You were definitely one of a kind . You always had a smile on your face regardless of anything that might have been going on in your life. I want to tell you I appericate everything that you ever did for me, weather it was a simple conversation to make me feel better or fixing my computer at work when I couldnt get it to work. I remember and always will the last conversation we had at work the day you left to go see your family. You reminded me of all the funny conversations we had when we sat right beside each other. Jay gosh I cant tell you how much I miss you nor can I ever express that to anyone. My prayers are with your family and closest friend right now. May god feel there hearts with memories of you, brighten there days with all the love you had for each and everyone of them. We miss you soo much !

Our prayers are with you, Dana and Gabe. Please count on us to be present with you.
I delight in the jokes our children tell us. Jay told the very best stories and jokes. Perhaps because of his unique perspective of our world. Perhaps because his heart was so true to the wisdom and compassion of God.
We miss him and love you both.

Dear Dana, Gabe, and extended family,
Jay was in my 3rd grade class at Kennedy Elementary. He was a smart, precocious, handsome young boy. All of the other students wanted to be around Jay because he was so kind and funny. He always had a large group of friends and got along well with everyone. I am just so sad for y’all and everyone who knew him. I am sure he and Kirk had a wonderful reunion in heaven. Hold tight onto all of your wonderful memories until you’re with him again in heaven... much love and lots of prayers...Julie

In the short time I had to get to know you, it was clear what a great friend, roommate, cook, and dog dad you were. We all wish we could’ve had more time with you.

Jay, it hasn't even been a month since I discovered you and I share an interest in cars and in Austin TX. Lol. It was super fun to know that we had these and other interests in common, and I was really looking forward to having more great conversation with you... and then you were gone. I'm so shocked and so sad. You were someone great to talk to and someone who, even though I'd only known you a few months, is super kind and respectful to everyone they meet. I didn't need to know you well to be able to tell that about you. Rest in peace, my friend, the world has lost a good one.

You were the first coworker to make me feel welcome and to become a friend to me. Little did I know you would become one of the most important people in my life. You will never be forgotten and always be loved and missed Jay Michael.

I’ve known Jay since we were little ones in elementary school. Later, I had the pleasure of working with him during my first year of teaching. The kids loved him (but who didn’t). He was so smart, such a light, so funny and ever so kind and thoughtful. I’ll never forget him. He will be dearly missed.
