

Jim Sterling, 90, of Texarkana, TX passed away September 12, 2011 at his home. Mr. Sterling was born December 24, 1920 in Washburn, TX. He was a member of Texas A & M University's Letterman's Association, Texas A & M Hall of Famer for the 1939 National Championship Team; he was a veteran of the U. S. Army; and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Sterling was a member of First Christian Church, Panhandle, TX. Mr. Sterling was also the owner of Seven-O Corporation and was a lifelong Cattleman and Rancher.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sparky; and sons, Dan Sterling and Mark Sterling.
Survivors include his daughter, Jean Sterling Nolan, and husband, Tom Nolan; daughter-in-law, Sandra Sterling; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 at East Memorial Chapel - Moores Lane with Rev. Danny Wayman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the funeral home.
