Jimmie Carolyn Suggett

Jimmie Carolyn Suggett, age 81, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away in the care of Hospice of Texarkana on Saturday May 3, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Gene Suggett, who passed away at the age of 91 on August 5, 2024 at their home.

Jimmie Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lona Townes; three brothers, Marvin Dale “Red” Townes, Ronald Bruce Townes, and Horace Dean “Dean-o” Townes; and sister, Martha Gail Hale. She is survived by a sister, Brenda Maxey Guthrie, of Texarkana, AR.

Ray Gene was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Leva Suggett and a daughter, Kathy Ann Suggett. He is survived by two sons, Ray Gene Suggett, Jr, and wife Sherry of Toole, Utah, and John “Rusty” Suggett and his wife Elizabeth of Texarkana, Arkansas ; two daughters, Julie Fike Smith and Jennifer Neal of Texarkana, Arkansas; sister, Patsy McClure, 10 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Ray Gene worked as a tile setter for 65 years and Jimmie Carolyn was retired from Red River Army Depot. In their spare time, they enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends.

A memorial graveside service for Jimmie Carolyn and Ray Gene will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas, under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
