Joe Thomas, Jr., 89, of Texarkana, TX passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at his home. He was born on August 20, 1925 in Gilmer, TX. Joe was a member of the Noon Lion's Club, former active member of the Texarkana Jaycees, past president of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce and active in many other civic organizations.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothea Thomas.
Survivors included two daughters, Kay Thomas and Annette Sharp both of Texarkana, TX; son, Joe Alan Thomas, of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Les Paul McCommas and Jamie Henderson; two great-grandchildren, Aleksander McCommas and Kason Henderson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
A memorial service will be set at a later date.
