John H. (Jack) Gibbert 89 of Texarkana, TX passed away on August 3, 2026 at a local hospice. Mr. Gibbert was born in Bucks County, PA on election day November 3, 1936 and his mother was unable to get to the polls thus enabling FDR to be reelected. He spent over 12 years in the USAF leaving 1966 to preach the gospel. He preached for 40 years leading a countless number of people to the Lord. He retired to Texarkana to be near his son, daughter and grandchildren. He attended the Walnut Church of Christ. Mr Gibbert was a pilot and had his own airplane and served with the Civil Air Patrol as well as flew mercy missions for Angel Flight.
He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Sue Gibbert and his sister, Jean Marie Cronce.
Survivors include two daughters, Gina Gibbert and Michelle Gibbert; three sons, John Gibbert, Michael Gibbert and Greg Gibbert; grandchildren, Haley Meredith, Lauren Pfeffer and Paige Gibbert; niece, Anne Marie Miller; nephews Ben Luster and Brian Harper.
Funeral service will be 11am Friday, August 7, 2026 at East Memorial Chapel-Moores Lane with Patrick Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 10am to 11am Friday prior to the service.
