John R. Miller

John R. Miller, 86, of Texarkana, AR passed away December 29, 2016 in a local hospital. Mr. Miller was born July 24, 1930 in Texarkana, AR. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR; Edwards Masonic Lodge; and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Miller; son John Raymond Miller, Jr.; his first grandchild, Kevin Ray Friday; and great grandsons, Daniel Detwiler and J. T. Redfearn.

Survivors include his daughter, Gayle Barnes of Texarkana, AR; son, Bradford Miller of Texarkana, AR; daughter, Patti Moore of Texarkana, TX; and son and daughter-in-law, David and Connie Miller of Texarkana, AR; grandchildren, Christina Mauldin, Matthew Friday, Wesley and Jenny Kent, Nicholas and Jennifer Kent, Melissa and James Redfearn, Rebecca Moore, Kalyn and Tyler Thomas and Courtney Miller; great grandchildren, Bradyn Mauldin, Hunter Mauldin, Noah Cruse, Wynlee Kent, Amy Beth Redfearn and Rayder Thomas.

Service will be 3 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2017 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. David Kassos officiating followed by Masonic Rites. Burial will be in Rondo Memorial Park under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.

Family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Monday at the church prior to the service.
