

Mr. Shipp was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elaine Shipp and his grandsons, James Lynn Jones III "Trey" and Hunter Brian, and one granddaughter, Faithe Alexandra.
He is survived by one son, John F. Shipp and wife Alicia of Okinawa, Japan; three daughters, Lorena Stevenson and husband Buddy of Texarkana, AR., Teresa Jones of Genoa, AR., and Amanda "Mandy" Bowman and husband Brian of Genoa, AR.; one brother, Marion Shipp of Texarkana, AR.; 10 grandchildren: Samantha Cox, Tyler Royster, Gwen Jones, Taylor Rico, Hope Brenton, Destiny Shipp, Cameron Harvey, Dylan Harvey, Brianna Harvey and Jayla Shipp; 10 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Trey, Damon, Colton, Raiden, Buck, Jackson, Maylie Jo, Sophia and Radley; a special friend who was more like an honorary brother, Jeral Willard.
John's favorite place to be when away from his kids was his deer lease in Rosston, AR. He loved all things outdoors and never was caught sitting still. He had a love for his babies like no other. He enjoyed spending time with his family every moment he could. His kids and grandkids would drag him along on any adventurous trip and he was always happy to be along for the ride saying,
"Dammit Boy", every chance he got. He was a devoted member at Church of God Union Assembly.
The family would like to offer special thanks to everyone who has loved and supported them through the last few months. John was under the compassionate care of Dierksen Hospice. The family appreciates all the love and support they received from all of the staff especially, Laura, Paige, Alisa and Sonia.
Funeral service will 10am Friday, January 9,2026 at East Memorial Chapel-Downtown with Rev. Daryl Faulkner officiating. Burial will Be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral-Downtown.
Family will receive Friends from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, January 8, 2026 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
