Joe was a wonderful man who was a true inspiration to many people.His memory will continue to live in our hearts.We will miss him,but we know God needs him in heaven.

Uncle Hicks will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.  He was special to all of his family in North Carolina.  We looked forward to his visits.  He was known as the "candy man" to all of the grandkids- grand nieces and nephews here.  He always brought a bag of special candy treats for all.  Hicks was always a delight to be around sharing his wit, humor, and wisdom.  He touched many lives that I'm sure we are not even aware of besides touching ours.  We love you and will miss you.

I will miss Joe. Little Bright Eyes will grow up hearing about her Papa Joe and what a wonderful inspiration he was to everyone. I will miss his dancing, his laughter, his stories, his quiet understanding, and his friendship. He will live on in our hearts and memories. God has a wonderful new addition in heaven. Hicks, as he was known to our family and friends in North Carolina, was special to each of us.  He made us laugh, think seriously and always made us smile.  He loved to joke and play pranks and got the biggest kick out of it..  A helper to others as if that were his mission.  The people that came in contact with him will be affected in many ways for the rest of their lives.  He proudly wore the titles of Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle and Friend.  We were very fortunate that he was part of our family. What a blessing Joe Hudson was to the world. His spirit lives on in his children and grandchildren. The Angels are singing and he is home.

Sweet sweet sweet. Those words describe him best. A wonderful person who touched the lives of many people in this community. Made  me always feel so welcome at the places I came in contact with him at.  I really loved Joe. Was his Barber and really never minded sqeezing into his little bathroom at Cowhorn creek to cut his hair when he wasn't able to come to the barber shop any longer.   Just a great man that helped transform a lot of lives

Joe showed us how to live and shared himself with others. He will be quoted again and again.
