Joyce Ward

Joyce Oleta Lansford Ward departed this life on July 4, 2011 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was born on February 22, 1921. She now is enjoying the awesome privilege of spending eternity with Her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Ward and sister Norma Mills. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Carter of Houston, Texas and Mary Miller (Dale), of Jonesboro, Arkansas and brothers Charles Lansford ( Lenita) of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Robert Ward (Linda) of Texarkana, Arkansas.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Charles Larry (Carol) of Pearland, Texas, Jerry Wayne (Janice) of Texarkana, Texas; Norman Lynn (Sue) of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Stephen Neil (Onetha) of Texarkana, Texas. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Christy Gammill (Greg), Heather Teague (Mark), Brent Ward (Shirley), Laura Eckles, Stephen Ward,Tammy Sumrall, Shemica and Erica Ward. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, Hwy. 82 E., Texarkana, Arkansas, her church home for most of her life, at 3 pm on Friday, July 8th, 2011. The service will be conducted by Reverend Todd Reed. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Texarkana, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, monetary gifts in her memory may be given to Shiloh Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas or St. Judes Hospital, Memphis, TN

All arrangements will be handled by East Funeral Home-Downtown.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at East Funeral Home - Downtown, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
