Judy Hamilton Ervin

Judith "Judy" Hamilton Ervin, age 76, of Wake Village, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025. She was born on April 15, 1948, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to Lemuel "David" Hamilton and Goldie Hamilton.

Judy had a big personality and a heart to match. She was known for her southern charm and beauty that radiated both inside and out. Classy, funny, and full of life, she had a way of capturing a room and making everyone feel special. Her kindness and selflessness were the hallmarks of her character, always putting others before herself and leaving a lasting impact on those who knew her.

She spent her working years at International Paper Mill. In retirement, Judy embraced the things she loved most: traveling, doting on her grandchildren, and caring for those around her.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel David Hamilton and Goldie Hamilton; her sister, Davetta Hamilton Clark; her baby brother, David Hamilton; and the love of her life, Joe "Don" Knight.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Dr. Alicia Ervin Cotabish, and husband Dennis of Conway, Arkansas; her son, Aaron Ervin of Wake Village, Texas; five grandchildren, Blake Goodwin of Nashville, Tennessee, Chloe Cotabish of Washington, D.C., Bradley and Brice Ervin of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Joey Cotabish of Conway, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Lilly Goodwin, Harris Robertson, and Kaisun Goodwin; a sister Ida Jean Kennedy and CB Kennedy of Texarkana, Texas; and two special friends, Judy Stewart and Alma Oliver of Texarkana and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 27th, at East Funeral Home (Downtown, Olive Street). A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 28th, at the funeral home with Brother Kevin Jewell officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
