June Barnard Ashworth

June Barnard-Ashworth, 87, of Texarkana, TX passed away April 20, 2021 in a local hospice facility. Mrs. Ashworth was born November 7, 1933. She was the president of Christian Gateways Ministries and director of Gateways Farm for Girls in New Boston, TX; she was also the author of the Spiritual Growth Classes and seven other biblical studies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Ashworth, Jr.

Survivors include her three daughters, Mara Griffith of Temple, Texas, Carin Leon and her husband Fritz of Parker, Colorado, and Jana King and her husband John of Redwater, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021 at East Memorial Chapel - Moores Lane with Trudy Bangs officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Emory, TX.

Family will have visitation from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021 at East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Texarkana or Alzheimer's Association.
