Kathryn B. Horton, age 94, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019, at Hospice of Texarkana. She was born on January 5, 1925, in Walkers Creek, Arkansas. Kathryn was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Texarkana. She retired after 42 years from the Texas State Employment Commission and was a resident of The Cornerstone Retirement Community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lynwood Horton, Sr.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Edward Hay of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Emily Kathryn Brown and her husband, Mark of Little Rock, Arkansas; Gavin Gerard Hay and his wife, Yvonne of Ft. Mill, South Carolina; five great grandchildren; and son, William L. Horton, Jr., and his fiancée, Penny Everett, and children, Jessica Everett and Ty Everett of Texarkana, Texas and Taylor Everett of Grand Prairie, Texas; sister, Peggy Lunger of Dallas, Texas; brother, Morris Wayne Brown of Dallas, Texas.

Graveside service will be 2:00 pm, November 19, 2019, at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Texarkana.

I am saddened to read of Kathryn’s death. I worked in RRAD Personnel recruiting office years ago and dealt with her at TEC when we announced positions. She was a joy and a good friend. Prayers for her family.
