

Mr. Benzmiller was born February 8th, 1938, in Fargo, North Dakota. He was a CRNA in Texarkana for many years and worked at both Wadley and St. Michael hospitals. He was a dedicated member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a Deacon for 24 years and member of Knights of Columbus 1003 and Boy Scout master for Troop 3 for many years. Mr. Benzmiller was also a US Army veteran and member of American Legion Texas Post 25 where he served as their chaplain.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia Benzmiller West; grandson, Jeremiah West and daughter-in-law, Shannon Benzmiller plus four sisters; Bernadette Woodford, Margaret Fredrickson, Fran Knudson and Theresa Ford.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Gloria Benzmiller and his two sons Lawrence Benzmiller III and Joseph Benzmiller.
Also left to cherish his memory are three grandchildren; Lawrence Michael Benzmiller, Alissa Benzmiller McAdams and her husband Garrett and Kristi West Garcia and 5 great grandchildren; Kallie, Ryan, Isabelle, Samuel and Tesla.
He is also survived by his brother Mike Benzmiller; sister, Catherine Backer and her husband Leslie and sister Mary Kressen Paulsen; brother-in-law, Keith Knudson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Victor and Mary Bonogofsky, sister-in-law; Charlotte Towle, brother-in-law Lester "Corky" Albough, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, from 5:30 until 7:30 pm at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, October 3rd, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Bishop J. Gregory Kelly and Father Justin Braun officiating.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
