Locksley was a member of Hardy Memorial Methodist Church. She enjoyed square dancing for many years, playing cards with family and friends. She was also an avid reader. Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
Known to her grandchildren as “Nanny,” Locksley loved them deeply and treasured the time they shared together. She often said that “family was everything,” and she lived by those words. Her family will remember her for the love, laughter, and memories she brought into their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Elizabeth Griffin, and her sister, Mary Lou Blalock.
Locksley is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Tara May; her daughter and son-in-law, April and Jason Gray; eight grandchildren, Braden May, Caroline May, Burke Flowers, Logan Gray, Connor Gray, Wesley Gray, Caleb Gray, and Carter Gray; and her great-grandson, Anderson Flowers. She is also survived by her nephew and his wife, Cliff and Kim Blalock; her niece and her husband, Lisa and Sean Nolen; her great-niece and her husband, Ashley and Jeremy Chookas; and her great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Bella and Dax Chookas.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, at East Funeral Home–Downtown, with Rev. Richard Heyduck officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery
