Margaret "Mitzi" Splinter Smith

Mitzi devoted 25 years of her life to nursing, a calling she carried with steady compassion and a truly kind-hearted spirit. After graduating from nursing school in 1980, she spent her career offering care and comfort to others with quiet dignity and unwavering respect for those she served.

Mitzi was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Trishta Lassiter; her mother, Louise Yonkey; her father, Bill Yonkey; her brother, Carl Ray Yonkey; and her nephew, Carl Ray Yonkey Jr.

Survivors include her daughter and her spouse, Theresa Finigan and Ginger Finigan; her son and his spouse, Donald Bowers and Tonya Herrick; and her stepdaughter and her spouse, Angela Coen and David Coen.

Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren and their spouses, John Wayne Smith and Heather Smith, James Hill and Cecilia Hill, Samantha Herrick, and Jackson Bowers, as well as 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, William “ Bill ” Yonkey; her sister, Barbara Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
