Mary F. Calicott

Mary F. Calicott, 83, of Texarkana, TX passed away December 18, 2013 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Calicott was born June 11, 1930 in Texarkana., Arkansas. She was the first of nine children of Marvin Roy Avance and Ivy Mary Pickard Avance. She was married to Andrew Wheeler Calicott on January 21, 1951. She was a long time employee of St. Michaels Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Wheeler Calicott to whom she was married to for 46 years before his death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Reba Sue Avance Wagley and Neita Jo Avance Smith.

Survivors include her sons, and daughter-in-law, Michael Andrew Calicott of Texarkana, TX, Jimmy Joe Calicott of Texarkana, TX and Timothy and Rhonda Calicott of Little Rock, AR; eight grandchildren, Angela Michelle Calicott Huskey, Corey Andrew Calicott, Meridith Lauren Calicott Hill, Jason Christopher Calicott, Sara Elizabeth Calicott, Katie Nicole Calicott Lienhart, Timothy Jordan Calicott, and Jillian Claire Calicott; 11 great grandchildren, Landon Martin, Logan Martin, Bethanee Calicott, Emma Klaire Hill, Bella Grace Hill, Sophie Kate Hill, Caroline Avery Steele, Jefferson Calicott., Emilee Calicott, Alexander Calicott and Kaylee Calicott; brothers, Drew Avance of Waldron, AR, Bill Avance of Texarkana, and Marvin Avance of Kilgore, TX; and sisters, Judy Stafford of Texarkana and Jane Pace of Shady Shores, TX.

Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at East Memorial Chapel – Downtown with Rev. Kenny Polk officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013 and Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
