November 24, 2018,  will mark the six anniversary of your passing.  I have cried, every single day, for you.  That will make two thousand one hundred and eight days of tears.  I still question why?  I guess, I always will.  The milestones of my son getting married, having children, and watching your musical talents grow are forever gone.  On my saddest days, I still see your beautiful smile, as the tears roll down my cheeks.    
Your birthday is coming up, on September 7th, You would have turned 28 years old.  I will celebrate that day... as though you never left me.
Matt, you came into this world as my beautiful son, even as an infant you were quite.  You didn't need anyone to entertain you.  When you were sick, I slept on the floor beside your crib, because you refused to sleep anywhere except your crib. While most other children would climb out of their cribs, you would always climb into yours. 
Matt, you were a quiet, gentle soul who always had a smile for all.   As I think of you, I remind myself that God only loaned you to me for a short time.  I am thankful for God choosing me for twenty-two remarkable years to be your mom.   My love for you is eternal!  

You are greatly missed by so many.

i would like to send out love and hugs and prayers and healing and comfort to this dear family.  i didn't know matt all that well, but we bonded a few years ago, online, over music, guitars and such.  my husband and son love their guitars, and matt and my son trey have the same big brown soulful eyes.  i like to think they both got them from the same side of the family!  i think it may have been bob seger that endeared matt to me online a few years ago, it touched me that he knew of this old time rocker, and liked his music, i was listening to bob seger before matt was born!  i know that now matt is at rest, there is no pain or trials for him now.  but his family has a void now, i pray they can fill it with their love for this exceptional young man who will be remembered by so many.  please know, randall, teresa, miranda, spencer, connor, aunt veda and the rest of his family, that i will hold matt in my heart and you all as well.  i love each of you, and pray for peace, comfort, and calming memories for you.

To my dear son, you have been one of the greatest blessings to my life. I cherish all the time we were able to spend together. I only drove the band bus for one year and could see you and your friends laugh and cut up. I would not take anything for those trips. Your mother and I are heart broken and will see you again soon in Heaven for a reunion. To all my friends in Houston from Milby and Broadway Baptist church I just want to say thanks for all your prayers and well wishes. God blessed me with 3 wonderful kids and a loving wife and we will miss Matt so dearly. I love you son with all my heart, you will never be forgotten.

Matt was an amazing talent and God didn't waste his time when creating this kat! I remember how he played his guitar with sincere passion.
