Melissa Renee “Misty” Ray 55, was born on September 6, 1966 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Bill and Jacklin Ray. Misty Departed this life for heaven on September 13, 2021 in Texarkana Texas. Misty was proceeded in death by her infant sister Alyese Dawn Ray, grandmothers Maggie Etta Turner, and Martha B Ray, grandfathers John M Turner and John Robert Ray.

Misty was a light in this dark world, who loved anyone she met. She enjoyed bowling, listening to music, Christmas Morning, and birthdays were her favorite. Her smile was infectious and her excitement over the smallest things brought happiness to everyone around her. If she met you once, she claimed you as her friend, and she meant it. Our family has been blessed to have had her for the years God lent her to us. Misty was the best daughter, sister, Aunt, and friend. She will be missed dearly, especially her silly fun little personality. Misty is survived by her parents Bill and Jacklin Ray Of Texarkana, her sister and brother in law Gwen and Norman Harris of Texarkana Arkansas, her niece Amber and husband Michael Ferguson of Genoa Arkansas, her nephews Joseph Waggoner of Genoa Arkansas, Justin and Wife Alycia Harris of Texarkana Arkansas, and Blake Harris and Fiancé Hailey McIntosh of Sweetwater Texas, her great nieces Lauryn Ferguson of Genoa Arkansas, and Lily Harris of Texarkana, her great nephews Deven Ferguson of Texarkana Arkansas and Kaleb Harris of Texarkana Arkansas. Her special friends Mark Kidd of Texarkana, and Donna Saxton of Benton Arkansas. A heartfelt thank you to Robin Lackey and Erica Waggoner, her caregivers, and her nurse practitioner Elizabeth Williams of Transitions Medical for caring for her like your own family and loving her like we did.

The family will receive visitors at Visitation on Thursday September 16 from 5pm to 7 pm at East Funeral Home, downtown Texarkana.

Funeral services are 10 am Friday, September 17, 2021 at East Funeral Home, downtown Texarkana with Pastor Todd Reed officiating.

The Ray Family has always been special in our lives. Bill, James, and Wesley went to Norphlet School together and have remained friends all these many years. Misty was a special young lady. She was always glad to see us. We've had many good times together through the years. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Ray family with love and prayers. God give you all peace, mercy, and grace from our Savior Jesus.

I’ve knew Misty for many years as Gwen and I were friends and co-workers. Misty was an Angel on Earth, always happy, never met a stranger, loved people and hugs. She was sweet inside and out. She will be missed, but Heaven received the best Angel! She had the best family and care givers. Love you Gwen and Norman, our prayers for you and your family.

Since Misty was a little girl she loved her family, friends, school and her card game. She had the best life had to offer and her dad surely spoiled her. Her mom made sure that clothes were always perfect and matching and she had cute little purses as well. Her big sister and brother in law took excellent care of her for the last few years, as she aged. I am her moms best friend and I loved Misty like a sister that I never had. Fly high sweet little Misty. We will miss you forever♡
