Patricia Ann Bowden Crumpton passed away peacefully on November 7, 2020, at her home in Texarkana, at age 81, surrounded by loving family. She was born August 8, 1939, in Texarkana, Arkansas to Stuart and Georgia (Purtle) Bowden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Crumpton, also of Texarkana.

Pat was a graduate of Arkansas High School, Class of 1957 and attended Texarkana Community College. She retired after many years of service as the Director of Finance for the City of Texarkana, Arkansas. Pat was fond of traveling, sightseeing around the United States and Europe. In later years she became interested in genealogy and history, spending time in North and South Carolina and Virginia. Upon her return, she couldn’t wait to share her historical finds with family and friends. She also enjoyed her work and service on the board of Old Washington Historical Society.

Pat found her meaning and happiness, however, in her love and care of her husband, Eddie, and her children, Karen and Ken. Her greatest gift to her family and to all who knew her was her perfection in caring for others. She was a rock in times of trouble, she made others feel safe, loved and unafraid. Her life was a testament that “the only thing we can do that has any lasting meaning is helping others.”

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Crumpton and son Kenneth Crumpton (Deborah); her grandchildren, Chris Crumpton, Lance Jordan, Courtney Allen (Colby) of Dekalb, TX , Lisa Miles (Nolan) of Texarkana, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kylee, KC Allen, Kash Allen, Kaylee Wright, Kamryn Miles and Cason Jordan; sisters, Joyce Horn of Camden, AR and Jan McGuffin of Puerto Penasco, Mexico. She also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10, 2020, from 3 pm to 7 pm at East Memorial Chapel, Moores Lane. The funeral service, also at East Memorial Chapel, Moores Lane, will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, November, 11. Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, Nash, Texas. Memorials can be made to the Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council, Inc., or to Hospice of Texarkana.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health COVID-19 guidelines for masks and social distancing.

To the Crumpton family,

We offer our deepest condolences and our prayers. Many fond memories of running around the neighborhood on Locust Street with Karen and Kenneth as kids. Mrs. Crumpton was always kind and very patient and a friend to my mother.

May she Rest In Peace.

Erin E Bann, (for the Bann family)
