

Robbie Rockholt departed this life at her home in Texarkana, Arkansas peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2011. Robbie was born on March 7, 1946 in Miller County, AR., the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and Bessie Lee Levi Rockholt. Robbie was a member of the SPCA, The Humane Society of the United States, and the World Wildlife Fund. She had such love and compassion for all animals and she cared for every one that crossed her path. She was employed at Day and Zimmerman her entire adult life. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Rockholt Lockwood. Robbie leaves behind so many people who will miss her; her big sister, Marilyn Rockholt Smith, Charles Thomas Smith, who was her brother-in-law, but loved her as his own daughter, a cousin, Bernice Hicks of Texarkana, AR. Her nephews, Stephen Smith, Charles Jr., Robert Lockwood and Greg Nichols, who was a chosen nephew and true friend. Nieces, Katherine Smith and Jennifer Milton. Robbie also left behind her best friend since high school, Marty Nichols, who cared for her throughout her illness, and Patti Younk, a great friend. Lastly, but very important, Robbie will be missed by her favorite canine companions, Rocky the Rottweiler, Sister the Golden Retriever, and Blondie, the Yellow Lab.
At Robbie's requests, a "Picnic Memorial" will be at her home on Wednesday, May 18 at 5006 Old Blackman Ferry Road from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. She wishes for this to be a celebration of her life. You may call 352-214-1267 for more information.
