He was preceded in death by his wife, Maridell Earhart Cowan.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Cowan, Jr., and his wife, Annette of Texarkana, AR; and his sister, Sherry Sparks of Texarkana, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, October 16, 2015 at East Memorial Chapel - Downtown with Rev. John Stephenson II officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
