Ray E. Trammell, 81, of Texarkana, passed away peacefully on 3/2/22 after a brief illness. He was born July 31, 1940 in Foreman, Arkansas. He enlisted in the US Army in 1960 and served for 2 years. Ray spent many years in retail sales and management serving the local and surrounding communities. He was a long time member of the Texarkana Bass Club.
Ray never met a stranger. He and his loving wife Juanita of 54 years who preceded him in death, welcomed family and friends for a game of wahoo, dominos, or penny poker. In his later years he enjoyed watching some of the classics on television including Matlock, Perry Mason, and Family Feud while chowing down on a Firehouse Sub or a Whopper sandwich. Texas Roadhouse was his spot for dining out. He was fortunate enough to nurture his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his two daughters Rene’ Roy and Madonna Benzmiller and son in law Mark Roy. Six grandchildren Amber Roy Birkline, Jason Roy, Michael Yarbrough, Colton Yarbrough, Anna Gaulden, and Alissa Benzmiller. Five great grandchildren Skyler Birkline, Alaina Birkline, Bryce Birkline, Caitlin Birkline, and Allyson Yarbrough.
A family visitation for RAY will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at East Funeral Home, 2807 Moores Ln, Texarkana, Texas 75503.
A chapel service will occur Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 3:30 PM, 2807 Moores Ln, Texarkana, Texas 75503. He will be buried at Old Rondo Cemetery, McClure Road, Texarkana, AR.
