Raymond Eugene Hopkins, 80, of Texarkana,Texas passed away on Monday, July 9th, 2018.

He was born May 14th, 1938 and was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Raymond loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and 3 furry four legged friends, named Roscoe, Butch and Shorty.

He retired from Montgomery Ward after 33 years of small engine repair, but never retired his love for assembling and repairing things. Staying busy was his way of life.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta, one son, Michael Murray, a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Rod Cole, one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Derek and Crystal Murray of Oden, Arkansas, granddaughter, Samantha Stephenson of Washington, D. C. and Catherine Stephenson of Fayetteville, Arkansas. He also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren, Leah, Spencer and Brody Murray of Oden, Arkansas, one brother, Richard Hopkins of Texarkana as well as other beloved relatives.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 13th, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane in Texarkana, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 14th at 10:00 a.m. at East Funeral Home- Moores Lane Chapel with Rev. So sorry Loretta, Mike, Debbie, and all the family and friends, I saw Raymond not long ago at the bank, and we had a nice visit he said he was even still working on rent houses and staying very busy.

Mr. Hopkins has been "my appliance man" for over 25 years, But he did so much more than work on appliances. I always knew he would be fair, give me good advice and I could trust whatever he said to be true. He went above and beyond to help. He was such a kind, sincere gentleman . I am so sorry for your loss.

Raymond was a true gentleman. He could fix anything. I was lucky to meet him 9 years ago. He has fixed many things for my family over the years and I can’t imagine how many others he has helped. It was easy to tell Raymond was a Christian because he helped people constantly. We will miss you!
