Born to Donald and Ione Stewart on July 5, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska, he was a 1971 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and served as a tanker (KC-135) pilot in the USAF during the Cold War. He met his beautiful wife, Debbie, while stationed at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, Louisiana. Together, they lovingly raised their family in Michigan, where he worked as an automotive engineer for nearly 30 years. His inventions set standards for the design of Chrysler vehicles. Following his retirement from Chrysler, Bob joined Husqvarna, where he worked for 15 years until his passing.
Bob was a gracious man of integrity. He believed in the Lord and valued time with loved ones. He was a pillar of strength and support for his wife and children; he was always there for them. He is forever loved and remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle.
We are comforted in faith until we meet again.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Thomas and John Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his children: Robert (Adonna) Stewart II, Marshall Stewart, Kristin (Kenneth) Sterling, Courtney Stewart, and Joseph Stewart; four grandchildren; his father, Donald (Dottie) Stewart; his brothers: Randall (Kris) Stewart, Kenneth (Nancy) Stewart, and Douglas (Jean) Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
