

Ronnie Joe Elliott, Sr., age 85, of Redwater, TX, passed away on June 17, 2026, at his home. Ronnie was born December 19, 1940, in the old St. Michael hospital in Texarkana, AR, to Walter Joe Elliott and Lucy Gertrude Miller Elliott. He graduated from Texas High School in Texarkana, TX in 1958. He attended college at Texarkana College for 2 years then moved on to Austin, TX, to attend Pharmacy College at the University of Texas. Upon completion of all of his studies, he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in June 1963.
On June 2, 1962, Ronnie married Zelma Lee Dunn who accompanied him to Austin for his last year of college. She worked as a secretary for the Texas Railroad Commission for that year. Their first child, Trudy Angela Elliott (Taylor), was born September 8, 1963.Two years later they were blessed with their son, Ronnie Joe Elliott, Jr. (Jodie). On December 27, 1969, they got a further blessing of a daughter, Laura Lee Elliott (Mangum). But God was not through yet. On January 25, 1972, their third daughter was born, Lydia Kate Elliott (McKamie).
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents and recently by his sister, Sandra Kay Elliott Williams on February 24, 2026.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma, and one sister-in-law, Eliza Dunn Hinton, of Pacola, OK and all of their children: son, Jodie and wife Renae; daughters Angela Taylor, who recently lost her husband John Taylor, Laura Mangum and husband Jerry, Katie McKamie and husband Sean. Their grandchildren Tiffany Taylor, Christal Taylor, Tori Taylor, Sherelle Street, Kent (Jennifer) McRae, Cody (Kendal) Huggins, Loren (Stephen) Morphew, Robert (Kirsten) Eitel, Adam (Brianna) Mangum, Lindsey (Bryan) Cigainero, Storm McKamie, Joe McKamie and Sonny McKamie and 17 great-grandchildren, One nephew Greg Williams and his daughter, Kristen Williams.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation at 1:00 P.M. at Redwater First Baptist Church with Pastor Corey Calicott and Pastor Mike Powell officiating.
Ronnie will be laid to rest at Redwater Cemetery.
