Mrs.Shaw was the Sweetest and most gracious lady. She and Mr. Shaw treated me like family when I worked for them as well as after they had retired. Nelson and family you were truly blessed to have such wonderful parents to God be The Glory. Will keep you in my prayers.

My mother Louise Shaw Card, was Vernon's sister. I spent a week with Rosaland, Vernon and Nelson one summer when I was in high school. She treated me like a princess. Rosaland even threw a party with many of Nelson's friends and cousins. I was teased for my Yankee accent (really it is a California accent) and loved every minute of my time in their home. Rosaland was the consummate hostess. She went out of her way to give me one of my best summer holidays ever.
I saw her last when I took my mother to visit Vernon for the last time in 2010. She was as feisty as ever. I'm sure she will be missed.

My aunt Rosaland gave me some special memories during her lifetime. We did not live nearby, but we would travel to New Boston to visit a couple of times each year. I remember her wonderful cooking. She took great pride in the delicious family meals she would prepare when we came to visit. She also had the gift of creative talents. She reconstructed and painted an antique glass globe lamp that is displayed in my bedroom and a beautiful embroidered vase of flowers that hangs in my studio/office. I also remember her doing some lovely oil paintings. The final memory that she gave me was an active alert conversation that we had right before Christmas. I am so glad we had that last telephone conversation.
May Rosaland be filled with joy in her reunions with family and friends in Heaven.
Peace and comfort to all who loved her.

Rosaland was a force of nature. She loved her family fiercely and always enjoyed being at the center of all the gatherings. In her younger years, shopping at Neiman Marcus with Inez Shute, there were none more stylish than those two! We are saddened by her loss but know it was time for her to join Vernon, Inez, Hiram, her dearly beloved daughter-in-law, Elisabeth Shaw. I can imagine all the love and laughter upon her arrival. Rosaland, enriched our lives and the memories of life with her is now legendary. Much love, Jeanne and Stan Curtis
