Susie Harder, 75, of Texarkana, passed away on December 1, 2012 with her family at her side and in her heart. Frances Sue was born on February 16, 1937, the youngest child of Bernard and Frances O’Dwyer. Her parents instilled in her a strong faith in God that guided her through her life and into Heaven. She grew up in Hope and Texarkana and graduated from St. Edward's School in Texarkana and from St. Edward’s School of Nursing in Fort Smith. There, she met the love of her life, Augie Harder, and they married on September 13, 1958. They raised five children, and Susie was a loving Mamaw to seven grandsons and five granddaughters. Caring for others as a registered nurse was her profession, and she found great joy tending to children as a school nurse for the Texarkana Arkansas Schools. She touched and enriched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Catherine Ann Thomas.
She is survived by her husband, Augie; two sons, Chuck Harder and Gus Harder; three daughters, Susan Mervish, Mary Menjares, and Cathy Youngblood; two sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law; twelve grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Forte; brother, Buddy O'Dwyer, and a host of other relatives and friends.
