

Ms. Pierce was born on October 7, 1918 in Lansing Michigan. she finished the 12th grade in school and retired from the city of Lansing Michigan where she worked for the highway state department. She was a life long Nazarene andplayed the piano and organ at church. She loved to sing hymns and talk about Jesus. She was a caregiver most of her life.
Her parents were William Nordhoff and Grace DeYoung from the Netherlands, she had 3 brothers and 1 sister and was preceded in death by them all as well as her husband, Earl Wesley Pierce.
She is survived by her son, Richard E. Pierce of Leary, Texas, her daughter Janet and Dennis Plaskett of Allendale Michigan, grandchildren; Dwane and Jenie Plaskett of Remus, Michigan, Theresa Baxter of Walker Michigan, Darlene and Thomas Price of Hooks,Texas, great grandchildren; Maygen and John Hartwick, Jordan and Elizabeth Price of New Boston,Texas. Jordan is currently in Kadar,Afghanistan, Tiffany, Haley and Mason Price of Hooks,Texas, Christina and Eric Pfeifle of Mason Michigan, Jacob Baxter Walker, Codi and Kesha Plaskett of Potterville,Michigan 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews including Lynn and Paul Fisher of Hooks,Texas.
Burial will be at a later date beside her husband in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Lansing,Michigan.
Mrs. Pierce will be donated to medical science under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
