Our beloved son, Will, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 25, 2014. Will Clark Wren Autrey was born on May 19, 1995, in Texarkana, Texas

Will was a 2013 graduate of Arkansas High School. He was in the Honors Program, the Gifted and Talented Program and attended Boys State. One of Will’s most influential high school teachers was English teacher Mrs. Donna Powell.

Will’s first passion was politics. He ate, dreamed and slept politics. In middle school, Will would even stay after school to discuss politics with his teachers. He was extremely bright, witty and had a dry sense of humor, even to the point of being the king of sarcasm!

Will enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, Wren. They also loved attending the University of Arkansas Razorback football games.

Will had a great love for animals like his mom, Debbie. They enjoyed spending time in the yard with their pets.

Will attended Bible Study Fellowship and also other Bible studies at First United Methodist Church. He served many years as an acolyte at his church. He respected and loved the Reverend Charlie Settle who greatly influenced his life.

Will was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Autrey and his godmother, Reverend Jane Mack Nickleberry.

He is survived by his parents, Debbie & Wren Autrey; sisters, Ashley and Allison Autrey; grandmothers, Abby Jones and Harriet Autrey; grandfather, Milton C. Jones; uncle, Clark Jones; aunts, Becky Autrey Phillips and Mary Autrey Kardell; and numerous other relatives.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to: Jeff Tarpley Rescue, P.O. Box 282, Nash, TX 75569-0282 or to the political party of your choice.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, AR with Revs. Bruce Bennett and Vida Williams officiating. Burial service will be at East Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.

Debbie and Wren, may God give you peace and great strength for the days a head. Will was special to our family, a big brother to Kaden, and a best friend to Kory. I will hold dear the last time he was over and how much he made us laugh. We will always feel blessed to have been a part of his life. If ever you need anything just call. Thank you for allowing Kory to honor your family and Will by being a pallbearer. Kory and our family will forever hold his memories close to our hearts. We know we will see him again when God calls us home. Much love to all of you.

Debbie & Wren -- I understand your pain. We who have buried our children ahead of you would never wish such pain on any other parents. Hold close your memories, they will comfort you. I want to come visit you, Debbie. I know how Will is the center of your Universe. Such a handsome, awesome son. The Lord loans us these beautiful children and trusts us to love & care for them till he calls them Home. Please trust that He needed your Will in Heaven. He must have needed Will so much, to bring him Home @ such a young age. I hope you can find some peace in knowing that God chose you to be Will's parents for the time he was here. He trusted you to teach him well and learn the lessons Will was sent to teach you and all who knew him, especially those who loved him so dearly. Debbie, my heart is always open if you want to share about your Will. I've lost your # from my phone but please call me anytime if you need to talk. 903-277-3970. I love you and my heart aches that your family now has Will-shaped holes in your hearts.

My son was the most wonderful human being ever in my life. He was on an intellectual level that even his own Mother cannot adequately describe. He was so bright and special that this present world was not enough to keep such a spirit. He is now where he rightfully belongs and as his Mother, I will spend the rest of my days creating awareness and being proactive in honoring my son's death and memory. I love you, Will!
