A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she poured her heart into her family and her home. She had many passions throughout her life, including golf, fishing, gardening, traveling across the country with the Marble Falls RV Club, bowling, playing games, sewing, needlepoint, cross-stitch, and creating beautiful porcelain art. As a talented artist, she was a proud member of the Blue Bonnet Porcelain Art Club. She and her husband were also members of First Baptist Church of Marble Falls.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Forrest D. Jefferson; parents, Joe T. and Altha M. Underwood; sister, Tommie J. Higgs, and her husband Richard Higgs; and brothers-in-law, Ross and Charles Jefferson.
She is survived by her children: Linda Conkel (William) of Tyler, TX; Janis Wamsley (Dennis) of Conroe, TX; and Sandi Schmidt (Richard) of South Lebanon, OH. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Staci, Farrah, Shelley, Anndrea, Ryan, Tanner, Lauren, Brad, and Zach; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jerry Jefferson of San Angelo, TX, and Mrs. Jean Jefferson of Bixby, OK; along with nieces Sharon, Cathy, Lisa, and nephews Jeff, Bill, Scott, and Chuck.
Her love for family, her creative spirit, and the joy she shared with others will be remembered always.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers—Rosemarie, Letitia, Angie, Juana, and Ashley—whose loving care meant so much to Ada Jo.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery on Friday, September 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow on Saturday, September 6, at 11:00 a.m.
