Alek Drayton Albright, 22, of Kingwood, passed away on October 29th, 2023. He was born in Conroe, Texas on March 26th, 2001. Drayton graduated from Atascocita High School and was continuing his education for Cyber Security and Computer Science at Lone Star College in Kingwood.
Drayton lived at home with his mom where he was at times called her "shadow" because of how close they were. They shared a weird love for smoothies in the evenings, collected rocks, and he enjoyed just being around her while she worked from home. He grew up side by side his sister, Michaela, whom he had an extremely close relationship with. You rarely saw one without the other. He also had a deep connection with his brother, Tyler, who looked up to his older brother.
Growing up, Drayton had a few hobbies. Drayton was an excellent marksman and loved building guns and going to the shooting range with his dad. Being able to express that passion for guns, Drayton spent a lot of his time at his grandparent’s ranch in Livingston where he enjoyed hunting with his family. One thing about Drayton was that he was the best helping hand. He never hesitated to help his Uncle D and Papa with work that was needed on the property. He was a gentle soul and always looked out for others, especially the young ones who looked up to him. Kids loved him!
Around his teen years, he really got into BMX, making him lifelong friends through this hobby, which he was quite good at. Drayton was really big on family and loved to spend time with his loved ones bowling. He enjoyed many birthdays bowling with his friends, and often beat them at the game. Anyone who knew him would know that he would never be seen without his air pods in, as he had a passion for music. He loved everything from Metallica to Johnny Cash, and he could sing any Red Hot Chili Peppers song, and sounded great while doing so. Despite him having to be strong throughout his battle with seizures and having epilepsy, Drayton was a light in everyone’s life and he had a huge heart. He worked through each seizure and the challenges that came with each one with minimal complaints. He truly was a rockstar!
He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Jeanette OdNeal, Billie Snider, Violet Glassel, Donnice Dowden and Richard Deleon.
He is survived by his parents, James W. Albright II and Bretney Snider. His sister, Michaela Albright and brother, Tyler Lee Albright. He also leaves his grandparents Ronnie and Debbie Snider, Mike and Charlotte Hale, and Rhonda Overstreet. His aunts and uncles, Alan and Ashley Albright, Chris and Susan Lentini, Jonathan and Darla Ryan, and Derrick and Rachel Snider. He is also survived by many cousins, great aunts and uncles, and close friends Blake Ringo, Wendell Mackey, Joseph Weidner and many other close family members who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 11th at 10 am at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands.
