Allen was a hard worker who started his career in the food distribution business at the age of 16 loading meat trucks. He quickly transitioned to the Accounting department and in various managerial positions where he dedicated 50 years of service before retiring at the age of 66.
A faithful partner and caregiver, Allen lovingly tended to his wife Geraldine during her battle with kidney disease, even training to perform home hemodialysis for her for nearly seven years. In his personal life, Allen is survived by his daughter Michele Paul, her husband Jeff, and his grandson Caleb Paul. He is also remembered by Geraldine’s daughters Renee Welch, Rhonda Ontiveros, Melissa Nobles, and their families. Allen was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Wright Schindewolf and step-grandson Joshua Welch.
In his younger years, Allen enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting, hobbies which he shared with Geraldine. He loved to barbecue on the smoker making brisket and ribs that would melt in your mouth. He was an avid Astros and Texans fan which he spent many hours watching especially in most recent years.
He found solace in his faith, attending Trinity Lutheran church and school as a child, later joining Believers Fellowship Baptist church in Spring, Texas, where he made a profession of faith and was baptized. In his later years, he found comfort in watching sermons and listening to the choir at First Baptist church of Dallas, Texas.
