Antonio “Tony” Felicidario, 87, of Spring Texas, went home to our Heavenly Father in the early morning of August 16, 2020. He was born in Manila, Philippines on May 23, 1933, and grew up within the compounds of Malacañang Palace. Tony graduated from Mapa High School and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Feati University. At one time, he had aspirations of entering the seminary, but, as fate would have it, he met and fell in love with a beautiful colleague named Milagros “Mila” Isla. At the time, they both worked at the Budget Commission under the office of the President. They married on his birthday, May 23, 1963, after which Tony pursued a career with San Miguel Corporation. There, amongst other accomplishments, Tony received recognition for designing and implementing the most efficient bottle-washing machine of the time.
In 1970, amongst rumors that The Philippines was falling under the constraints of Martial Law, Tony and Mila decided to move to the United States with their 5 children, arriving in Detroit, Michigan. The family settled in the city of Westland, where they lived for 6 years, and where he became a member of the Knights of Columbus. After accepting a position with Brown & Root in Houston, Texas, Tony and his family moved to Spring, and he lived in that house for the remainder of his life.
Tony and his family were very active in the church, and, at Christ the Good Shepherd, he became the first Filipino Parish Council member. He had a passion for ministry and became a leader in the first Filipino Charismatic Movement in Spring, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Mila, their five children: Martin and his wife, Karen, Ray, Marli, Deo, and Maricris, eight grandchildren: Alicia, Brianna, Matthew, Emma, Joseph, Brendan, Sebastian, and Melissa, and seven great-grandchildren: Jordynn, Jacob, Avila, Mila, Jane, Edith, and Benson.
Tony’s celebration of life will be held on August 21, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas, beginning with The Rosary at 10:30AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM.
