Barbara A. Johnson passed away on August 26, 2024. She was born in 1934 to Julia and Wayne Staley, Mound City, MO. She has one sister Joyce Bell from Norman, OK. Barbara met Loren Johnson while in college and married in 1955. They had 5 children. Leslie (John) DeWeese -Great Bend Ks, Cheryl (Dustin) Cobb- Phoenix, AZ, Bradley Johnson - Kingwood TX, Patricia (Charles) Williamson - Magnolia, TX, Christine (Edward) Arledge- Winnie Tx. She was grandma to 11 grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren. She was a very loving Mother and Grandmother for her family.
Barbara was an accomplished cake decorator and worked along side of Loren many years in their bakery in Atchison. After leaving Kansas and the bakery business, she worked at a bank for many years. She always enjoyed her customers.
She liked to sew for her daughters when they were growing up and during retirement took up quilting. She was a member of several quilting bees and enjoyed her friends for quilting and lunch.
She loved flowers and had many at home. Barbara was a member of the Eastern Star and received her 50 year pin. She was also a good cook and provided Holiday meals for her family many years. Her favorite holiday was Christmas.
Barbara was preceded in death by Husband Loren Johnson -2003 and Daughters -in-law Melbalee -2013.
She will be missed by all.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held Friday, August 30, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 to be immediately followed by a committal service from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM. A reception will then occur from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM also at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
