Beatrice Evelyn Thompson, known as Bea, went to her eternal resting place on Tuesday May 19, 2026, at the age of 98 in Missouri City. She was born on March 27, 1928, in Ocheyedan Iowa on the family farm. She graduated from Worthington High School and married her high school sweetheart, Russell Thompson, on May 23, 1952, in Minnesota.
Bea lived a rich life with her husband Russell, raising five children while following her husband around the world in their many moves from Minnesota to Newfoundland, Missouri, Indiana, Washington DC, Vienna Austria, and Texas, which they considered their home. She was a BSF leader for 20 years, a member of the Prime Timers and Goldenaires Choir at the Woodlands United Methodist Church and served as a hospital chaplain at Memorial Hermann Hospital. She loved to travel, sing, and share joy with everyone around her.
She especially loved her eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Mama Bea. Bea is remembered for her giving spirit, her fierce loyalty, her fun-loving nature, and her presence at countless family events and celebrations.
