Bob's life was filled with love, faith, hard work and family. In 1955, he married his childhood sweetheart, Mary Kay Roth, and together they shared nearly 63 years of marriage before her passing in April of 2018. Their love and commitment was an inspiration to their family and everyone who knew them.
Bob, lovingly known as "Pawpaw", is survived by his children Janet Howe (Dennis), Michael (Laurie) Ellington, and Patty Raney; grandchildren Michael Baudat, Shawn Pickens (Trudy), Courtney Ehlert (Spencer), Megan Vann (Michael), Candice Linney (Shelton), and Austin Hutchins (Alexis); and 9 (almost 10) great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
Bob spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry, retiring from Ellington and Associates at the age of 80. After retiring, he devoted himself to caring for Mary Kay and his passion for woodworking. He often sported sawdust layered clothes that were evidence of the many hours he spent handcrafting toys, bird feeders, crosses and animals while making regular appearances at local craft shows and farmers markets until the age of 90.
The craft shows combined some of his favorite pastimes, his wooden creations, interacting with people and telling stories. He always brought a smile to all those who crossed his path. He was an avid storyteller and had a passion for telling stories about his family history and his time in the oilfield. Bob knew he was blessed and took great pride in the legacy of love, faith and the family he leaves behind.
