Hey Tessa,

I just wanted to drop you this note to let you know that I was thinking of you and your family. Cotton and his family have touched many people, and all are with you in this time of loss. I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that Cotton lived such a full life, the suffering is over and he is in a better place. In time the pain will be less, and the memories will become the treasure.

I know it may not seem obvious, but Cotton was a significant influence on my young life, and in a good way. He was more than just “Tessa’s Dad”, he was one of my role models, even if I didn’t really know it at the time. I truly admire the spirit that runs in your family, and I know I’m a better person today because of the Peterson clan. Many of the “firsts” (and some of the best) things in my young life happened to me because I knew you and your family. I will always be thankful.

If ever you need to talk, I’m just a phone call or email away.
