Born in Chillicothe, Missouri on August 11, 1941, Carol Ann Hoffland peacefully passed away at the age of 84 on July 15, 2026, in her home in Montgomery, Texas, surrounded by her family.
A few years after graduating from Paseo High School, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by embarking on a six‑week journey across Egypt and Europe—climbing the pyramids and exploring ancient relics. Her bucket-list adventure planted a seed that blossomed into a lifelong passion for the Arts & Humanities, ultimately shaping her calling as a distinguished educator.
On June 6, 1966, she married the love of her life, Robert Hoffland. Together they raised three sons—Eric, Marc, and Ryan—who were the pride and joy of her life.
Driven by her love of learning, she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in both English and History from Sam Houston State University, graduating with honors, and Master in Liberal Arts from Houston Baptist University. She shared her passion by touching the lives of thousands of students during her career as a Senior English Honors teacher at Kingwood High School and The Woodlands High School.
Carol was deeply patriotic and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne and Mary Rudolph, and her sister, Cheri West‑Rudolph. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her sons, Eric, Marc, and Ryan; and her cherished grandchildren—Kayla, Karsten, Ori, Pierce, Greta, and Alessandra.
She will be remembered for her radiant smile, her gentle presence, her boundless love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through her teaching, friendship, and kindness.
