She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on December 22, 1946.
Carolyn graduated from Watson Chapel High School, Pine Bluff, Arkansas and received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
She was married to Gerald P. Gumpert on July 26, 1980.
She was a member of Mims Baptist Church, Conroe, Texas, and had a passion for serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald P. Gumpert; father, James Henry Shipman; mother, Eva Mae Hopson-Shipman; and sister, Mary Ethel Shipman.
She was survived by sisters; Rebecca Watts, Grapevine, Arkansas, Linda Stahl, Dallas, TX, Brenda Sallee, Van Buren, Arkansas, sister-in-law; Margaret Ann Banus, The Villages, Florida; brother-in-law George Gumpert, Niceville, Florida, and her faithful companion, “Tucker”.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 12pm, February 14, 2017, at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, The Woodlands, Texas. Visitation will be 11:30am – 12pm prior to services.
