Carolyn was born October 25, 1954, in LaGrange, Indiana, to Harold and Ruth (Beaty) Connelly. She was the sixth of nine children and loved being a part of a big family. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class from Eden High School in Eden, Texas, and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin in 1977.
In 1979 she married the love of her life Robert J. (Bob) Hlozek in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Hlozek; son, Bradley Hlozek; daughter, Lindsay (Justin) Elliott, and grandson, Robert; as well as her siblings, Evelyn (Gary) Soblotne, Marilyn (James) Poss, Janet (Lynn) Lubke, Jackie (David) Zarate, Elaine (Richard) Jones-Zach, William (Charlette) Connelly, Allen (Becky) Connelly, James (Cindy) Connelly; and 20 nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation and rosary service at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home on Thursday, June 29, at 6 p.m. A funeral Mass to honor the memory of Carolyn will be celebrated at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas, on Friday, June 30, at 11 a.m., followed by a burial ceremony at Forest Park The Woodlands.
Family was everything to Carolyn. She lived for her kids, loved to travel with Bob, be with her family, especially her sisters, tend to her flowers and play with her grandson, Robby. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
