Cat was a remarkable individual, known for her vivacious personality, inquisitive nature, and loving spirit. She possessed a thirst for knowledge and had a keen interest in literature, often immersing herself in captivating book series. Her love for reading was matched only by her zest for life, as she fearlessly slalom skied off the dock at the family cottage, even in her later years. Cat was a true adventurer, embarking on lengthy road trips without ever succumbing to boredom.
In her leisure time, Cat enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She was devoted to maintaining an active lifestyle, engaging in various forms of exercise. Whether it was a rigorous workout or a leisurely stroll, she found joy in keeping her body and mind healthy. Cat also had a deep love for sports, both as a player and a teacher. She cherished the years spent sharing her passion for athletics with her students at The Regis School. “Coach Cat” was adored by many enthusiastic children and grateful parents.
Cat's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother to her son, Austin (Amanda) Hilberg (né Head), and her daughter Megan Head. Her grandson, Jack Hilberg, held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in every moment they spent together. Cat's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she cherished the bond she shared with her brothers, David (Pam) Soden and Tom (Sherry) Soden. She also adored her beloved "puppies," Brindle and Shelby, who brought her endless companionship and joy. Cat's warm and caring nature touched the lives of her nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and beloved friends.
Cat received her education at Middletown High School and continued her academic pursuits at Queen's University and Miami University, where she deepened her knowledge and broadened her horizons.
Catharine Anne Head, or Cat as she was affectionately known, will be lovingly remembered for her vibrant spirit, unyielding love for her family, and her insatiable curiosity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
