Charles attended McClymonds High School in Oakland, California.
He was married to Betty Jean (Turner) Robinson on August 12, 1951.
Charles had a career in truck driving for Pacific Motor Trucking Company. Being quite the entrepreneur early in his life, Charles opened his very own auto detail shop and later in life opened a BBQ restaurant in Oakland CA called The Pit.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #70, Oakland, CA.
At a younger age, Charles enjoyed playing the tenor saxophone. Later he also played the conga drums. He also was in the entertainment business managing a music group “The Mystic Four” out of Oakland, CA.
Charles had a passion for many sports especially golf, basketball, boxing & track and field. His favorite hobbies were motorcycles and firing up the pit for his family. Driving up to Reno with his family or flying out to “Viva Las Vegas” with his beloved wife Betty was the ultimate getaway. He loved following his kids and grandkids sports activities. But some of the best times came from the ones he and Betty shared with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Heath) Cunningham of Dublin, CA; sons, Clifford (Angela) Robinson of The Woodlands, TX, and Anthony ( Denise) Robinson of San Ramon, CA; grandchildren, Zachary TuRay Robinson, Camei Robinson, Shane Robinson, Erica Robinson, Lauren Cunningham, Skylar Robinson and Spencer Robinson; great-grandchildren, Zariah Robinson, Zachary (ZJ) Junior, Dallas Robinson, Dewey (Patricia) Robinson, Connie (James) Powell, Danny Robinson and Christine Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Odessa Robinson; sons, Charles Ray Robinson and Zachary Dean Robinson; brothers, Theodore (Teddy) Robinson, James (Jimmy) Robinson, and Amos Johnson; and sisters, Gail Beard and Carrie (Micky) Matthews.
There will be no services. The family asks that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers and to please not send any flowers.
