Consuelo (Connie) 90 of Houston, Texas passed away on June 15th peacefully surrounded by family after years of battling ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). She was born on March 28, 1935, in Pampa, Texas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Travis Allan Jones, her oldest daughter Monica, both her parents Herbert and Faye and her sisters Dolores and Alice.
Consuelo married Travis on January 22, 1960. Consuelo was an avid reader, rarely would you not see a book/kindle in her hand. The only thing she loved more than reading was to be around family. She enjoyed the holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations and even during her battle with ALS, her 90th birthday was a humdinger that she enjoyed immensely, just a few months ago.
She and Travis lived in the Houston area for the first part of their marriage where they raised their children. Later they moved to Tennessee for a work opportunity. They were there for 15 years and even though they loved it, decided to move back to Houston, in 2003 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her brother Herbert, her three (3) children, Ronda Holley, husband Hank, Lori Houston and her husband Steve and Allan Jones.
Nine (9) grandchildren, Vandell Jr., Brandon and his wife Meaghan, Paris and his wife Ashlee, Shayla, Tyler, Nicole Arnold and her husband Matt, Blake DeAlessandro and his wife Amber, Brandon Jones and Vasti Cornada. She also survived by four (4) great grandchildren; Annisten and Penelope Arnold and Gavin and Ronan Norwood.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX, 77384, on June 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 PM.
A funeral service will follow at the same location at 2:00 PM. Graveside and committal to follow at 3:00 PM.
