Cynthia was the best secretary I ever had. It was an honor to have been able to work with her for 18 years at the airport mail facility in San Antonio , Texas.  She always had a smile on her face and she was able to help me with all the scheduling and correspondences  that had to be done on a daily basis.  She always made the office  a fun place to be and was a great source of computer knowledge.  She will be greatly missed. 

My Aunt Cynthia will be cherished for her warm smile and her giving heart. Ever since I can remember, Aunt Cynthia would send us wonderful gifts for Christmas! She and Uncle Bob sent us our first ever gingerbread house when we were little(I now make sure my daughter always has one). They sent us our first ever sleeping bags, too! These sleeping bags had Superman comic strips on them and they were so well used. We loved them! I believe they also gave us our beloved Lincoln Logs. There would always be gifts from Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Bob to my parents from Hickory Farms. My brothers and I would fight over the candies it included. Aunt Cynthia always made sure we had nice gifts and as a child that meant everything! 

As I got older her warm smile, comforting voice and  kind ear was always ready to hear about my life, problems, and family. She was always so kind and non judgmental, which meant everything as a young adult.

Now that I am a grown up, my Aunt Cynthia carried on her tradition of giving by making certain that my daughter Katherine always had a card for Valentine's, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and especially for her birthday! She was always certain to include some fun stickers and some spending money, too! As a mother/grown up, when someone shows love and an interest for your child, that is EVERYTHING! 

Over the last few years Aunt Cynthia just beamed every time  she talked about her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy! She loved being a grandmother and I know she will be keeping a watchful eye on those girls from Heaven.

My beautiful, loving Aunt Cynthia will be dearly missed by us. We know she is in Heaven with my father, and their parents, celebrating and feeling no more pain but looking down on us and praying for us. I love you Aunt Cynthia! I can still hear her singing...…"Mama's little baby loves shortening, shortening,.....Mama's little baby loves shortening bread!" 



While I did not know Cynthia all that well, I did know her husband (Bob) and how much he cared for her. I was present many times on golf trips with Bob and heard him talking with her on the phone and it was obvious that she and Bob had a special and loving relationship. I am sure that Cynthia is in a better place today and will have no more pain and suffering. To Bob I would like to say that your friends are sincerely sorry, we love you and we will always have your back. 

In meeting Noelle, I would soon come to know her mom, Cynthia, who became one of the best examples to me of a friend, wife, and mother.  The kind of relationships she built with her family are ones I strive to develop with my own family.  She was always welcoming to me and my family, willing to share, and easy to talk to.  A wonderful, caring, amazing woman and I will deeply miss her.

I have so many treasured memories to cherish  from throughout the years beginning from when I was just a young girl and allowed to stay with her at her apartment on W. Gray here in Houston. I idolized my cool, hip Aunt from day one. She was always a kind, fun loving and sweet soul with a great sense of style who allowed me to be a part of her life even when having a young girl around may have just been a nuisance and distraction. I wish I knew the address so I could run by there and show Noelle where her mom shared her life so generously with me. Fast forward to her finding the love of her life, the larger than life Bob Wheeler. To know him is to love him and you are always sure to feel welcome and entertained. I was again blessed to be included as a part of their wedding and all of these years later it still touches my heart.  Her and Bobby made the perfect pairing of generous hospitality, great food, lots of laughter and in true Cynthia fashion, if the celebration was for you, the perfect prezzies that she had been storing up especially for you. She brought the party along with her and was famous for her cheese balls. She recently made the perfect cheese ball for one of our gatherings in the shape of an owl. She was channeling Martha and outdid her in my opinion.  She and Bob were blessed with my two wonderful cousins, Noelle(one of my favorite people on the planet) and Matt”Bubba” Wheeler aka “the bartender”. They are such a true representation of all of the love and values that were poured into them throughout their lives and their selfless care and devotion for dear Cynthia with Bob at the helm these past couple of months has been truly inspiring.  We enjoyed so many priceless times together through the years with our family gatherings/trips and celebrations. It is difficult to imagine her not being with us going forward and I fully believe  that she was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior, King Jesus with his arms open wide with great joy and celebration. 

Cynthia was a great person-to work with, I was fortunate to work with her at Airport Mail Facility during her time in the Poastal Service. Her smiling face will always be remembered. Rest In Peace! God be with you and you family.                         ........Dan

My husband, Tim and I were fortunate enough to work with Cynthia at the US Postal Service in the unit responsible for forwarding mail for people who have moved.  She was such a good- natured person with an infectious smile.  I know that family was one of her top priorities and from the pictures,  I can tell that her grandchildren were extremely important to her.  Our condolences and prayers are sent to the entire family for your great loss.  May God hold you close at this difficult time and grant you healing peace.

Cynthia was the type of person that was there when you needed her.   She was someone  to have lunch with, to go shopping , talk about crafty things and someone to cry with.   I will miss her, but I know she is in a peaceful, comforting place with her maker.  "The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zeph 3:17
