of our Lord and Savior on the evening of October 9, 2012 at St.
Luke’s Woodlands Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Daisy was born the fourth of seven children to Robert and Lavada Gill
on January 24, 1933 in Marquez, Texas. She was preceded in death by
her beloved parents, and sisters, Margret Webb and Betty Wilson whom
she has now joined in heaven.
She is survived by her brothers Carlton, Nolan and James Gill,
sister Bobbie Moore, her loving children, Fred, Carolyn and husband
Gary, Alice and husband Charlie, grandchildren, Robert, Christine,
Dennis, Toka, Leeanna, Carrie, Cassie, Jason, Justin, Reybel and
Michael, great grandchildren, Daniel, Brittanni, Brenner, Jamie, Katrina,
Jordan, Austin, Jayden, Josh, Jessica, Jenna, Connor, Jaycee, Cole,
Seth, Morgan, Alex, Tyler, Madison, Mia, Trey and Evan,
great great grandchildren, Allie and Kerrigan.
Daisy was a woman of strong will and compassion
who will be remembered for her fierce love of family and her
amazing strength and determination.
Anyone who had the pleasure of visiting her was always welcomed with a
sweet delight, pastries, pie, cake or cookies and coffee. Guests were
always greeted with a sweet smile. She took pleasure in preparing
delicious meals for her family and was an amazing, wonderful cook. I
don’t think anyone would deny, when it came to cornbread, Mom made
the absolute best iron skillet cornbread. During holidays she would
spend hours and even days in her warm kitchen lovingly preparing her
specialties. Her pride in her home was evident, and she kept it neat
and tidy and family members knew to take off their shoes before
walking on the carpet! She was a tireless and hard worker and she
could not sit and be idle for long. She was independent and busy even
into her later years and although she experienced pain she refused to
give in.
Daisy was her children’s confidant and adviser. She was wise
beyond her educational years and we know she will have
a keen eye on us from Heaven.
We will miss you immensely mom. You will always be in our hearts.
Until we meet again.
