Hi Grampy,
I have many wonderful memories of your trips to our side of the world, and our trips to yours. I'll always remember the laughs, the stories, and the many hours watching home videos and old music videos that you liked :) They were good times.
I really admire the incredibly full life you lived. I'll do my best to follow your example both in career and travel, and in the importance of family.
I had a dream a few weeks ago of you and Nana having afternoon tea together, and I know it to be true.

Like my brother I wished we had had the luxury of knowing you better. The stories my mum told me of the love between you and nan have always inspired me and made me proud to call myself a 'Lee'. She told me you were a true gentleman. A man who would never say a bad would about your wife. A man who always spoke of the love for her. I have always admired you from a far. Your successful career is something that has flowed through the Lee family blood. I know that you inspired my Dad to rise to the tops with his Career and like him, I have been inspired to do the same. You always addressed me as "Young Lady" when we spoke and it always made me feel special. It was another sign of what a true gentleman you were. I know that you are now in heaven with your soul mate by your side. This thought gives me peace of mind. I take comfort in you watching over us and hope that one day we will meet again. Take care. Dave Lee was never Big - in stature.However he was Big in his love for Megan; Big in his devotion for John, Bob, Lyndon, Colwyn and their families and Big in his respect for others he knew.
He was also proud of his Welsh heritage and I well remember him taking up  Welsh at Helston Street to further enhance his Welshness.
I also remember times when if we made too much of a racket when he was listening to his music he would turn his head,say nothing, give us the "Lee Look" and calm would be restored!

I could go on at length recounting numerous fond memories but most of all I remember him as a good, kind, decent hard working man who disliked being away from family on business and loved being with them but knew that to give them the best chances in life then sacrifices had to be made-sacrifices which were understood and appreciated by those around him. 

Lastly I would have dearly loved to have looked him in the eye, shook his hand and say that great understated Aussie compliment: "Good on yer mate - yer orright!" 

Go in Peace Mr Lee, walk tall through those Pearly Gates and  be reunited with Megan once more.

Hi Dad,
Just a quick message to say hi to you and Mum and hope that you are both back together now as you both should be.  Things aren't going too badly down here with one thing and another.  The family in Houston is doing a great job organising your life celebration for this weekend.  As you know (I think I saw you last night peering down from behind one of the clouds)I am unable to make it over to Houston for the celebration so Viv and I have organised one to be held on the 3rd at the local hall for all the friends and family here in New Zealand.  Anyway, we all miss you very much and hope that you are doing well in your new home.  All my love - your son John xxxxxx.

Uncle Dave, when I was growing up, each Christmas in Newport we recorded a tape of messages to you and the family from all your relatives gathered in the front room at 79 Church Road.  The sound quality must have been pretty poor (reel-to-reel tape) and we were often at a loss to know what to say but it meant that you and the family were always in our thoughts, despite the distance.

I am sad that I never managed to visit you and Aunty Megan in the US but I got news via my Mum, Eunice, and later you sent CDs that you had recorded of your family life.

I am so glad that your passing was peaceful and that you had a good life with a great wife, wonderful sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I will be thinking of you and all the family on Saturday and sending my love and best wishes,

So many cherished memories,
Where do I begin, the trip down under for our wedding,where we spent quality family time,
with the Aussie  contingent.
The trips to you and Megan ,celebrating the important events that mattered to you both.You and Megan  visiting us around the globe.
You instilled in me the  importance of serving ones food on a warmed plate including salad .
There is  no pie in the universe better than a pork pie.
Lime marmalade on toast was a favorite of yours,and beer went down with most meals.
Your intelligence outstanded me at times, along with your creativity and passion.The hours you spent compiling the family movies,those movies which we shall treasure for ever.You and I both shared a passion for all things "Christmas"
you so appreciated a home made Christmas pudding.
It goes with out saying I will miss you,
you leave behind a beautiful tapestry of memories,

Words are hard to come by. It's times like these when i say i wish i could have spent more time with you... i wish we had spoken more... i wish i could have been ale to share everything with you that happened in my life. But i know even though we are a whole world a part i knew i was loved and knew you and nany cared and loved us all. I'm gonna miss you grampy i have so many great memories of our times together from when i was little to when i was old. The christmas times we spent together while you told the boys off for teasing nany about her chicken tetrachloride. I was so lucky to spend time with you on my last Vist. I love you grampy. I know you're no longer in pain and with nany and that brings me happiness at times like this. RIP Grampy

Grandpy- I still am unable to find the right words for you. You have been there for me since I was born. I will always cherish our memories together. I enjoyed our time together and was honored to be able to care for you, you could always count on Nurse Betty! Joshua and Brooke will always have great memories of you that will last forever. You are greatly missed by us all. I know you are reunited with Nana and that makes me feel at peace with you being gone. I will love you forever, you will always be in my heart!

Dave, you were a great husband to Megan and a great father to your 4 boys. I married into your family 36 years ago and  spent many  great times with you and the family. The holidays were always festive with Christmas crackers, presents, plenty of food and wine!  You loved your grand children and great grandchildren and they loved you so much. I hope you are enjoying cookies and tea with Nana once again. We miss you and love both of you so much.
