I miss Denise. I miss her smile and her infectious laughter. I miss her silly antics and her funny dances. I miss her stern lectures and her forgiving spirit. I miss her graciousness and her loving concern. I miss her crazy driving and her tips on cooking. I miss her open heart and her non judgmental ways about her. I miss her care free attitude and the way she made others not mind that she didn't care. I miss her "oh that's such a great idea!!" when you suggest something. I miss how much she liked me. I miss sharing stories with her about our children and our husbands. I miss her intent interest in things that might bore another to sleep.  I miss her gullibility and that she could laugh at herself. I miss hearing her sing. I miss talking about the last book we both read. I miss her excitement at watching her favorite show and the retelling of it. I miss my middle of the night text messages that she always sent me. I miss remembering our childhood together. I miss how much she needed me. I miss my sister... I miss Denise....so much!

It has been over a month since Denise went to be with her heavenly Father, but we still grieve over the loss of our sister. My sister Valerie and I were talking on the phone the other day, remembering Denise last day with us. We both cried but at the same time did alot of laughing. Words cannot describe what Denise did and brought to our family.Denise was the middle child so she was to young for her older siblings and to old for the younger siblings but she managed to fit in with all of us. I can speak for myself, that I will miss her laugh her smile, her looks when she knew someone was not doing to well or the way she just brightened the room when she walked in. She was an Angel sent from God for her family and as an angel she returned home. Love you and miss you Denise!

Denise was our niece but she was much more than that. I am a three time cancer survivor and am currently being treated again. Denise and I chatted via phone and email for a long time and each time I asked her how she was doing she turned it around and asked me how I was. She lifted my spirits even during the hardest of times and her faith in Christ was infectious as was her love for people. She made me laugh more times than I can count even when she was hurting. I also found out while at the visitation that Denise was the same with anyone she met. She would be the same person with a co worker as her neighbors or the guy who picked up the trash. She was truly a guardian of love and her family. I will miss her and will hold Rick an Connor in my prayers.

My sister, Denise is one of a kind. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know, or ever will know. Her smile and laugh could brighten anyone's spirit. She touched so many hearts in her short time on this earth, that she will never be forgotten. She will be watching over her wonderful son, Connor and loving husband, Rick. They will have a guardian angel until they can once again, be together.  Thank you, God, for blessing me with a sister like Denise! I love you, Neecie.

How do I write the feelings and memories that are in my heart for Denise? There is so much I want all of us to remember. Denise was the middle child and with me being the oldest, we were not real close when she was young. I remember her being the one who ALWAYS got lost. At that time, it used to get on my nerves that we were consistently looking for her! Now I look back and I realize that even then Denise had a fasination with all of God's creations. She wanted to see all that was around her. She had a love of all that life could offer. It was when she went into college that Denise and I truly connected....as adults. She spent so much time with myself and my children while she was in college. I remember when she first found out she was pregnant she told me that she wanted a son just like my son Ronnie. Connor, she was so pleased when she found out you were a boy! Her love for Rick was expanded to her child....one she was so thankful she had. Denise truly loved her family. She had a joy and love of life that each of us only dream of. As we grew into adult women, Denise became my best friend. We would share all of our deepest secrets and support each other thru what seemed like tough times. She would often tell me that I was her shining light and that she was not afraid when I was there. I finally was able to help her to understand that she was the one who fixed my "heart" and taught me to love and be open to be loved again. Her constant positive attitude and faith taught me so much about what life is truly meant to be. Rick and Connor, please know that because of her love for you, we all had her so much longer than we might have. She constantly fought to be here another day for the two of you. You both were her life and her heart. She never regretted each day because she knew that the next day she would be with you. Connor, she was so amazed with the person you are and the person she knew you will grow to be. She thanked God every day that she had you in her life. She was so proud of you and all of your accomplishments. From your amazing grades at school to your plays in football. Rick, so many times she called me to tell me another special thing you had done for her. The trips, the movies, Circus De Soleil....the list goes on and on. Again, I have to thank both of you for being there with her, making her feel so loved each day when those of us couldn't be. I am so blessed that Denise was not only my sister but also my best friend. Even today, I ache to see her smile or hear her laugh but I know that one day her and I will be together again. And, as she told me, we will dance together again. I will always miss her and am thankful that God choose for us to be sisters and best friends. I miss you little one and love you more than you know.

Dear Rick, Connor and family:
Denise is such a dear friend.  There aren't words to express how much I love her and how much I miss her.  I have such wonderful memories of going to lunch with her, wig shopping with her and our long conversations.  She truly felt like a sister, like I had known her forever.  One of the highest compliments I have ever been given was by her mother.  She told me a couple of times how much I reminded her of Denise!  Every time I went to the doctor's office or the hospital with Denise, the staff always lit up when they saw Denise or found out I was her friend.  She is a tremendous example and has a vision of how our Savior would want us to act.  My biggest hope is that we remember her and strive to be like her.  Each of us can carry her spirit forward when we face our lives and challenges with the same fortitude and courage she did.  She never lost her faith. She always brought joy to those she met. She spoke often of her love for Connor and Rick.  I know she can't be with us physically right now but I believe she is doing all she can on the other side to show her love for each of us.  Connor she saw how wonderful you are.  I hope you never forget that.  Life gives us two gifts--time and agency.  Though her time on earth was too short, she dedicated her time and her agency to serving her God and her family.  What else would we want to be remembered for? As Denise's nurse from the very beginning, I am honored to have known her.  She loved yall so much and was so proud of Connor.  What I am most sad about  is that I was not there in the end to see her join the Lord in her journey.  She was a beautiful woman and a glorious person and I am a better person for having known her.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The staff of American Cancer Fund™ at www.AmericanCancerFund.org is sorry to hear of Denise's passing. We have received memorial contributions in her name and our sincere condolences go out to her family.

 Each and every word of love that has been expressed for our sister has truly touched my heart and the hearts of our family. I know this will always mean so much to Rick and Connor,especially as Connor grows.  How does one pour your love for Denise out onto paper?  There is a deep special place in my heart for my sister, Denise.  Secrets and a life that only the two of us will ever know.  I can never express my truest, deepest feelings or memories.  I feel that can never be done.  Right now at this moment my heart aches for her and at the same time I am so very happy for Denise that she is living life eternally with our Father. She is still with us.  I will live my life now knowing that one day I will be together completely again with Denise.  Our souls were united by God before we were born, as he already knew us.  Our Dear Father blessed our lives by bringing us together as sisters.   I do take great comfort knowing that our sister is one of our greatest intercessors in heaven now.  As I believe she is truly a saint.    I would like to add to her book by writing some of my thoughts about Denise.  
 First her favorite flower is a Freesia. Her Favorite color is Royal Blue.  (Wedding Color).  She and Rick danced to the Temptation's song, “- Just My Imagination” at her wedding.  Her favorite nursery song to Connor is “I will love you Forever” second is “Winnie the Pooh”.  Her favorite song is Tub Thumping (I get knocked Down, but I get up again), “One Bread , One Body is a favorite song at mass., and she also loves “We are Family” (I got all my sisters and me). She loves home cooking the best, along with Kitchen Cook potato chips, Steak n Shake fries dipped in Chocolate milk shakes, and Monical Pizza's French Dressing.  She hates layer dinner the most and is allergic to spinach. She loves to buy junk food when we get together.  She loves to cook!  She loves to play games and she still owes me $1.95 from playing Rummy.   Her favorite movie is “Avatar” and second is “Practical Magic” (The sister's movie). She loves red wine, (Rex Goliath). She would hide the good chocolate.  She loves reality tv such as Big Brother. ( She would look up the spoilers and call me to let me know what was going to happen on the next show.)  She loved to read and would trade books with friends or take her books to a shop to trade in on other books.  She loved to shop at Ann Taylor Loft.  She wore Lancôme lotion cream on her face everyday and never had a wrinkle. She loves date night with Connor and Rick. She loves meditation on the Joyous Mysteries while saying the Rosary and became very found of the final prayer, the Hail Holy Queen.   She said the Rosary as often as she could and was concerned that she would fall asleep and not finish her prayers until I told her that her Angel, (Anastasia) finished her prayers for her. Saint Anastasia enjoys the distinction, unique in the Roman liturgy, of having a special commemoration in the second Mass on Christmas Day.  Rick and Denise's son, Connor, was born Christmas Eve, and she said that the Christmas Season was a special time for God's soldiers and if a person passed away during this season she knew in her heart that they were God's soldier. She loves snow and Christmas is her favorite Holiday -   She chose  Maria Magdalena as her confirmation saint name.  She said  Mary Magdalene washed Jesus'  feet and dried them with her hair. She was of the lowest of people.  God embarrassed her and loved her and she became someone Jesus could count on the most. She collects Santas and Angels.  She use to collect Cows but is way over that.   When she was a very little girl she bit her toes and she could do a back bend so far as to reach a napkin she would set in front of her feet.  When she was left out as the middle child, our dad would take her bowling, just the two of them. She always got lost on Family trips.  She loves practical jokes. Her first best friend as a little girl was from St. Joseph School, Sherry Havorka.  She loves when Rick surprises her.   The person she sees the most potential in is her son, Connor.   One of her favorite pictures is of when Connor, as a baby, was baptized and at the moment the priest baptized him, Connor touched the priest's face. She prays all the time and she praises God for each blessing every day.   
 Denise did life the best way, the right way.  She knew she was in the hands of our Lord, God.  She was his instrument in so many ways.   Denise grew up right in the middle of a large family, the cream in the middle of an Oreo Cookie. As they say, the cream rises to the top, and so did Denise.  She took charge of her life after high school as she paid her own way through college.  She was a member of a sorority at Illinois State University.  After college she moved out to California all on her own and started her career at State Farm Insurance.  She eventually moved to Texas.  I remember how proud I was of her for heading a team at the time of Hurricane Andrew.  I had married my high school sweetheart.  Denise and I as young women, were connected as sisters, and our friendship became a true, everlasting trust and love.  The one quality I held most dear to my heart is my trust I had in my sister.  Denise was my bridesmaid at our wedding.  She became the Godmother of my son, Matthew.  Then she began her wonderful life with her husband, Rick.  They had a son, Connor.  He is my husband's and my Godson.  I stayed at home and Denise worked.  We   cooked, cleaned, went to get groceries, spent time with our children, teaching them about God, school subjects and to clean their rooms.  My sister did all this while struggling against cancer.  Once she told me that after she had beaten cancer the first time that she would have gone through it all over again for the blessings she had received.  She truly had embraced her cross.  The cancer came back and though devastated by the news, she embraced her cross again and saw the blessings in each day.  She was genuinely concerned with others and the troubles that they faced.  I learned by my sister's actions and her words, “Valerie, Each day when you wake up, you choose how you want your day to go.  You can be sad in your struggles, or you can be happy.”….If my sister could do this with all she faced, I knew I could. The faith she had and the acceptance of God's will put so much into perspective.   I believe I am a much stronger person today.    
 Growing in my relationship with my sister was also a life of growing closer to our Lord.  We spent so much time on the phone,  talking, sharing our stories about our children and our husbands, praying, laughing, crying, and just being friends.  Our prayer life grew and our talks about our faith and the truth that Christ brought into our lives gave us our strength.  Our lives intertwined with each other and the people we each had in our own lives.  So many people feel a strong connection with Denise.  That was easily done, as they also were growing closer to God through Denise‘s example on how to really live life.  This is only the beginning for my sister and myself and for all our other siblings and each person she touched.  She loved each of us just as much as the other but for who we each are.  Her love for each of us, her family, friends, never divided, it multiplied.  I know each of us that loves Denise can't wait to see her again, can't wait to see what we do next.  Just sayin' :)

To all of Denise's family and friends, it truly is so hard to say good bye to yesterday.  As I send each of you my prayers, I feel myself choking up.  God truly blessed all of us with one of His Angels.  So many times she and I were able to discuss our faith in God. Denise knew no strangers.  She had such a big kind, loving and caring heart.  She always put others before herself.  So many times she gave me strength.  When I felt as though I could not go on, she would let me know to trust in God and He would work everything out for the good.  Denise helped me to bellieve in myself when I felt no one else did.  I truly miss her beautiful personality, her laugh and her smile.  I still have one of her messages saved on my phone.  God bless each and everyone of you.  Although she is gone too soon, take comfort in knowing that she is in the Master's hand.  I know she is keeping God's angels laughing.  When things start to get tough, don't let go, tie a knot and hold to God's unchanging hands.   Peace be with all of the family.

We will miss your contagious, huge smile and positive attitude. Heaven has gained a new friend for sure...

Denise was a very wonderful person one of my fondest memorize of her was when she meet her great niece Jaiden for the first time and had the biggest smile on her face. Another memory I have of her is when she cute my hair for the first time i am so glad that she was my aunt i will never forget her because all the great memories I have of Denise will always be in my heart. I know that she is always looking down at us everyday to make sure that we are all doing great. I love you Aunt Denise.

I've known Denise the entire time I have worked at State Farm (almost 20 years).  During that time, we shared many things, particularly our pregnancies!  I remember when she was pregnant with Connor...she was so thrilled! Conner, you were the light of her life! She was so proud of you and I know that she will be equally proud of the man you will become. I never knew her to have a negative moment. Since I am a nurse, she would share things with me about her illness, from the moment she was diagnosed. The plan, test results, the research we would do together.  Not one time did I ever hear anything but a positive outlook from her!  She will always be remembered for her great attitude, her love of her family and to me, her undying humor!

I am so thankful for having the opportunity to work with Denise when she first moved to Houston and through the years.  We worked together as claim reps and later worked together as team managers.  Denise was always caring, positive and upbeat. She was extremely creative too!  When our leadership team did the Wizard of Oz skit (I was Dorothy...lol), I believe it was all Denise's idea, she wrote our lines and poured her heart into making it a fun take on the classic and applying it to challenges we were having at work! I don't think any of us fell in love with the idea initially, but leave it to Denise to keep it positive and fun. She pulled us along, kept us encouraged with her innocent humor and it was a success and enjoyed by all.  

No matter what Denise was going through even before she was diagnosed with cancer and after, she always found a place in her heart to be concerned for everyone else and would put her issue on the back burner to help encourage you through yours.  I love that about her!!!  A few years ago my brother passed away after battling cancer for 5 years.  While he was alive, whenever Denise and I would talk she would always ask about him, she would tell me that she and Connor prayed for him every night and offered me encouragementnt.  She did this all while fighting her own battle with the disease!   She is truly an angel and exemplified God's love to everyone she encountered.  

To her family - you are in my prayers.  Denise leaves a beautiful legacy and much to be proud of!  God bless you all.

I first met Denise in the early '90s and immediately felt her warmth and kindness. I worked with Denise as a peer for many years in leadership at State Farm.  Denise was such a hard worker and could always be relied upon to get the job done.  The people that worked on her team were very loyal to Denise and they had a special relationship.  Denise cared deeply for everyone she worked with and took the time to get to know people on a personal and professional level.  Denise and I became good friends through the years. Although Denise was very successful professionally, her family was the most important thing to her. I remember how happy she was when she found out she was pregnant.  Denise was a great mother and wife. I remember going shopping for clothes after Connor was born.  I remember fun halloween parties at Rick and Denise's house.  I remember how Denise wrote a great skit for a meeting at work and she convinced everyone on the leadership team to dress up as the characters from the Wizard of Oz.  It was a great success and everyone loved it! I feel very honored to be her friend.

Dear sweet Denise, what a beautiful legacy of Christ-like love you have left your son Connor and all the rest of us who were privileged to walk with and cross paths with you. This world is a better place because of the time you spent with us. As I tried to serve and lift a few of your burdens, I received far more blessings from my time with you and Rick than I could even begin to give. Perhaps you had to leave us because angels belong in heaven.

Denise and I met in 1992 when we both worked for State Farm in Katy, TX.  She was young, beautiful, positive, and full of life which is the same way people who knew her in 2012 would also describe her.  Denise could tell stories or describe things in such a detailed and captivating manner, looking you straight on with those big beautiful brown eyes.  A couple of my lasting memories of time with Denise include her taking me shopping at Cosco.  It was my first time going there, and she showed me the ropes, which included eating at every food demonstration booth in the store.  She made shopping an adventure.  I also remember the morning she came into my office when we both worked at the NWF location, and gave me an "Internet Angel."  She told me to sit the angel on my computer monitor and per the inscription on the angel, it would watch over all my computer activity.  Denise's faith in God was like a beacon of light inspiring those she encountered, as she fought so gallantly against her cancer.  She was a great lady and a valued colleague and friend.

I wanted to express my thoughts about Denise by sharing a fond memory of her.  It was when Conner was going from his crib to his big boy bed.  I remember Denise being really excited about that and ordering things for the room.  It demonstrated to me the love she had for her family and the joy she got from giving to them the things they needed or wanted.  Denise was always so cheerful and upbeat and I will always remember her as such a beautiful lady.

I have two memories of Denise that make me smile every time I think of her.  The first captures the love and genuine concern she had for those around her, both family and friends. 

We were getting in the car to go to lunch or somewhere and she asked me how my foot was and said that her family had remembered me in their prayers.  What do you say to that when you know that her health concerns and challenges are so much greater than your own?  My foot problems were a minor sidenote when compared to the challenges she faced every day.  It was a moment of humility for me and Denise showed me how to truly care for others and rely on the Lord, no matter what.

The second experience makes me grin every time I think about it.  We had gone to Cracker Barrel for breakfast one day and she bought some sour balls for Rick because he really liked them.  A night or so later she woke up unable to sleep and went into the kitchen to get some medication.  While she was there she popped a couple of sour balls into her mouth and went back to bed.  The next morning Rick was concerned that her mouth was bleeding because she had red streaks coming down her chin.  She had apparently fallen asleep with a red sour ball still in her mouth.  She did not tell Rick because she did not want him to know that she had been up in the night raiding the sour balls, but she and I giggled about it all day!  

I love you, my friend!  Thank you for teaching me about love and life and for living with unshakeable faith!  Until we meet again . . .

When the Brandeskys moved into our neighborhood, our boys became fast friends.  After playing at their house one day, my son Isaac told me that "Connor's mom has bone cancer."  Shortly thereafter, we had a birthday party and I met Denise for the first time.  Imagine my surprise when this beautiful, happy, wonderful woman walked into my home!  We hit it off pretty quickly and enjoyed chatting.  After an hour or so, Denise asked me, "Would it bother you if I ran home, took off my hair and put on a baseball cap?  It's a lot more comfortable."  

During the last couple of years, we have enjoyed going to lunch together, talking about the adventure that is raising boys, and most of all, talking about our faith.  We've had lots of conversations about what it means to take your belief in Christ and apply it to the daily trials of life.  

I am grateful for the strength and perspective Denise gave me continually.  Even though her trials were much more challenging than mine, she never minimized my troubles and always encouraged and prayed for me.  

I miss you, my friend, and look forward to seeing you again.

I love Denise and her eternal hope.  She is an amazing optimist!  I had the privilege of visiting her one one of her bad days after chemo.  I felt so bad that she was in such pain, and yet we still shared a smile and talked of all the blessings that God had given her.  I am honored to have known her! 
 
One of the greatest miracles is that about a month before she died we had a lunch at Brigette's with Denise.  God blessed her with a great day and she stayed for hours just talking and laughing with us.  She was able to hold baby Katie, and we had such a great time!  Dear Denise, I love you and miss you!  Thank you for sharing your smiles, your faith, your hope, your love, and your life.  You are amazing!

I remember one Saturday at a quilt making service project. Denise came by and helped. She couldn't stay very long, because she was weak with the chemo treatments but she made it a priority to help others. I also love how she brightened my spirits every time I saw her. She will be missed greatly.

Thank you for a wonderful Spring Break 2011 and a great visit in October 2010.  We loved our visits with you.  You always made us feel special.

I met Denise four years ago.  From the moment I met her, I felt we had been friends forever.  She had such an amazing way of making you feel like you had great value in her life.  She loved her family and life with a passion and depth most people never experience.  Through all her experiences her smile remained the focal point of what she wanted people to see and it was always genuine.  She treasured every moment spent with friends and family and it showed in everything she did.  She was an amazing mother and wife, and those two roles are what she valued most in life.  The world as we know it will forever been changed because of the loss we feel without her presence, but I'm thankful this is just "see you later" and not goodbye, for she loved God and her Savior Jesus  and now she dances and sings with them.  When I get to heaven, I cannot imagine how much bigger her smile will be, but I know that will be what I recognize first.  Even though she has passed from our lives into heaven, I know that it is a brighter place because of her spirit and smile.  Laugh and dance and sing with God our sweet Denise....until we see one another again!  I will always be grateful for our time together, and Noah and Connor will grow up knowing each other, just as you wished.  That was the only promise you ever asked me to make, and I will honor it for you with joy!

Denise and I shared a bedroom and bed when we were little girls.  We would put socks down the middle of the bed.  She had to stay on her side, I had to stay on mine. (Except when we would hold hands if we were scared).  One morning I woke up to find Denise on my side of the bed.  I pulled her as hard as I could to her side of the bed, only I pulled too hard.  Denise woke up, eyes as big as ever, mid-air, before she landed on the floor. She still held my hand at night. :)  I love you, Denise.  You will forever be my best friend. I am truly Blessed to be your sister

It is hard for me to put in words thoughts and stories about my sister Denise.
She was a very compassionate, loving, caring,giving  full of love sister, She gave of herself and did not want anything back in return except for  you to help someone else that needed help even if you just sat down and listened to that person, So many memories go though my head about my beautiful sister, My husband Chris and I got married  in 2010 and we went to they house for our honeymoon. When Chris and I went up to the bedroom  Denise had lit a candle made homemade chocolate covered strawberries and a tray of meat crackers and cheese. She also had a note that said Welcome Mr, and Mrs, Chris Bell. Even with her cancer she made sure we had a great time.  I also remember when I had surgery on my knee and I did not call her to let her know. She called me and gave me heck and told me that it does not matter that she has cancer and days she does not feel good I am to let her know what is going on with me and my family even if it is bad news.  I also have many good memories of Denise when we were growing up. Many good memories.  When the family would go on vacation Denise would always get lost, Did not matter where we were Denise would be the one that would come up missing, Mom and Dad would find her and she would say I wondered when you would be un-lost. Thank you My Sister Denise for all the great memories and letting me be the BIG SISTER. Thank you God for putting Denise into my life. Denise you will be greatly missed but never forgotten, I LOVE YOU Your older Sister Iona AKA Nonie

I was lucky enough to grow up with Denise as close as a big sister you can get without actually being related...she had such a huge heart...I will always love her

My fondest memory of Aunt Nessie is when my sister Kira and I were preparing for our First Communion.  We were with her and our Grandmother (her mom) at Pekin Mall shopping for dress clothes, shoes, ties, you name it.  Aunt Nessie noticed how I was walking, which was like a duck, and she stopped me and came down to my level and put her hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eyes.  With a smile and compassion she said to me "Sweetie try walking with your toes pointed straight.  You will find that you will walk better and look better too."  Ever since that day I have walked just like that, and each step I take reminds me of her.  She was a truly inspirational woman, mother, aunt, sister, niece, friend, and daughter.  Her strength and courage was and will always be a light shining in the darkness.  I love you Aunt Nessie, you will never be forgotten.

I worked with Denise, she was always upbeat and smiling and had a wonderful attitude about her,  We all loved her and she will be deeply missed.

I had the pleasure of crossing paths with Denise at State Farm. She shared an office with us at the Cypress Lakes office off of 1960. When I first met Denise she was so kind and joyful. I immediately felt like I'd known her for a long time; almost like an old friend I hadn't seen in a while. She was such a blessing and I'll never forget her. I remember her bringing Connor to the office and she loved and was so proud of him. She will always remain in my heart and know she is in a better place and no longer in pain. My condolences go out to her immediate family. I know she will always be close to your hearts. We'll all miss her infectious smile and joy, but look forward to the day when we will see her again.  I thank God for her life and for allowing our paths to cross.

My deepest sympathys go out to the family of Denise Brandesky. May God please comfort her Son and Husband in this time of need and hold them tight taking away their pain and suffering!

I always remember Denise reading,when I would come over she was always purched at the end of the couch with a book in her hand,She was always in search of knowledge,She was Extremely smart.One fun memory I remember was one Saturday we piled in her sister Donnas Blue station Wagon and drove to NorthWoods Mall where we saw these cute Korean guys,I spoke a little Korean and we ended up following them and vice Versa,They asked us if we wanted to date them but found out how older they were,but just the giggleing and laughing with Denise and her sisters will stay indelible in my mind,I remember playing UNO with her and her friend patty Byrd at my former Boyfriend Chris and her cousins Mike Isenbergs Apt,was always fun when Denise was around.She will remain in my heart forever was a priveledge to have been part of her life .What a beautiful laugh and Smile.We were blessed to have her in our lives.

I met Denise a few years after I came to work at State Farm, she was not only my boss but a Great Friend too!. She was such a funny lady and I still giggle about things she did. Her office was behind my desk and when she needed something she would just yell out my name; I would get so tickled at her and she said it was just easier to call out for me , then to pick up the phone. I remember our special times together when I took her to chemo. Although she was extremely tired after her treatment, she never complained. We would grab lunch, take it back to the house and sit and talk about Connor. She loved her little man very deeply. Denise was a beautiful woman who loved the LORD and walked in faith everyday. She loved life, loved to laugh and loved meeting people. I am very Blessed to have known such a special woman and will miss her. After meeting her mother and family, I can see where Denise got her personality from. My thought and prayers go out to Rick and Connor, may the wonderful memories of Denise bring you comfort.

I am very Blessed to have known such a wonderful woman like her and I have many special and funny memories. After meeting her mother and family, I can see where her personality came from.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Rick and Connor, May all of her precious memories bring you comfort.

I have known Denise and her family for nearly 40 years. My favorite memory of Denise comes from the summer of 1985. Denise was staying with my family over summer break. She had a fondness for sunbathing. Being an typical teenager, I could not help but disrupting this quiet, peaceful time with a pitcher of ice-cold water! After doing this 3-4 times over the summer and declaring myself victorious, Denise vowed to get even! Ya whatever! About a week later I was awaken in the middle of the night by a pitcher of ice water being dumped over my head. Denise didnt say a word...just smiled widely and laughed. When I think of Denise, I will always remember that smile that touched so many people.

I'm a friend of Denise's sister, and although I didn't have the good fortune to really know Denise...it only takes moments to look at her smiling photos and to read the kind words from friends to realize that I missed an opportunity to have met a true gift given to many but taken too soon....the light that shone through her to those she loved will never fade.  My sincerest heart felt thoughts to you Christina and your family.

I met Denise in grade school.We had our First Holy Communion together.I remember Denise as being one of those little girls who always had a smile on her face and was liked by everyone.I know her smile will forever shine down on her family and friends.
