He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on September 25, 1958. He spent his childhood in Camden, AR and his young adulthood in Louisiana. Lynn attended The University of Louisiana at Lafayette which led to his career in oil and gas. In 1997, a sales opportunity brought him to The Woodlands, Texas where he had since called home.
He was married to his loving wife Kay on June 16, 1984 and spent the next 32 years as her faithful husband.
Lynn had a larger than life personality and a knack for developing a lasting impression. This led to deep lifelong friendships with people he cared about. He loved his family and friends and focused his time and energy on being with them. He was blessed to have Kay by his side and knew he was one lucky man. The most recent joy in his life came from his grandson, Greyson. Golf was a true passion for Lynn. He loved to share his enthusiasm for the game with others especially his son, Daniel. As he went through his journey with ALS, he was courageous in his fight and was committed to doing anything he could for himself and others with the illness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Derris Lynn Parker, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Kay Parker and his mother, Annie Kate Parker. His daughter Rachel Gerke and husband Brad, his son Daniel Parker and wife Ellen, his grandson Greyson Gerke, his sisters Linda Pabody and husband Cory, Angela Rahm and husband Jerry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 4-7 pm. The funeral will be held at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Spring ,Texas on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11 am.
