Ellen and I and the whole family send our sympathies.   We did not know the about the funeral arrangements.  So sorry for your loss.  Carli is still in shock as well as Ellen and I.  You and the whold family are in our prayers.

Dixie was sweet and good to the core, and found the good in everyone, no matter what. I was priveleged to have her as a friend for almost 30 years, and I pray I can always recall her beautiful smile and lighthearted giggle. My heart is with Mrs. Deloris, Brian, Aaron, Lauren, John, Ian, Mary, and the numerous others who will miss her every day.

When I think of Dixie, the words "sweet" and "kind" come to mind--one of those pure-hearted souls that make an imprint on others' lives. Such is the Dixie I knew.

She was my student and a close friend of my children. I mourn her passing, for she truly touched the lives of all in our family.

I remember her stories of hunting with her father. I can still see her winding up to throw a mean pitch to some poor batter waiting to hit the  ball. I remember her encouraging me to try a frito chili pie, straight out of the Frito bag. I remember her laughter when the girls were all together.

We shall miss your presence, Dixie, but you will remain in our hearts.

It is a heavy heart that I type this. I have known Dixie since I was 10 years old. I mentioned to another close friend, Dixie and she were my “oldest” friends. 

I have so many childhood memories of our time together. From years of softball (some games on the day of our formal…we were fried red from the sun in every picture), cheerleading (uniform must not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee), cheerleading camp (Pensacola Christian College DQ’ed FLCA squad because one girls uniform did not meet aforementioned rule. Not Dixie, of course), coon hunting (at night with Marvin, who lovingly named me Big Draws), coon training (Yes, she had a pet raccoon!), Catahoula hound rescues, school formals, sleepovers that lasted for days, Astroworld, Tenacious Tuesdays at Poet’s, weddings…oh my list goes on. 

In all of the memories, Dixie was a solid girl and never gave up on anything or anybody. She was the smartest, most talented, most athletic, congenial and all around a beautiful person. She was a special soul. 

I will never understand why she was taken away so soon. My sincerest sympathy goes to Brian and her children, as well as Mrs. Deloris. She was loved by all whose life she touched, especially loved by me. RIP Dixie Ann. You will be sorely missed.

She was as much a part of our family as my own 3 daughters; was often in our home, and my older 2 girls, always in hers.  I got to coach her in women's softball; what a joy she brought into all of our lives, forever.

I have had great sadness in the news of Dixie’s passing, but I find great hope and joy of knowing that although she is absent from the body she is present with her Lord. I pray that God comforts all saddened by this loss and know that He is our ever present help in time of need.

Dixie was just one of the neatest people ever. We went to school together and played on multiple softball teams over the years - what a pitcher she was! I still remember her trying to talk me into loving bbq sauce sandwiches after one game :)

We were at each other's houses a LOT through high school, and she was just absolutely always a delight and had a smile on her face. 

It's just surreal to talk about her in the past tense ... what a grim event. I will always remember her with love and kindness, just like she lived her life.

Words can’t express the sadness we feel over the sudden loss of this wonderful sweet spirit. We are encouraged to know she is in the loving hands of our Lord, and we will all be together again. Even so, I will certainly miss seeing her smiling face showing up at our homeschooling endeavors. My son Hunter also wanted to let the kids know he is very sad, and is praying for them in their time of loss.

My love and prayers go out to Dixie's family.  I went to school with Dixie and spent many a nights at her house.  Played softball with her, went coon hunting... we tried to keep up with each other through the years.   She was a great friend, with such a sweet spirit.  I will miss her.

My heart is just breaking that I cannot be there at this very moment with all of you right today.  I just received word of Dixie's homecoming and I am out of town.  
Dixie was the most gracious, loving mother I have ever known.  She taught me so much of the character of Christ watching her raise those precious children.  What a privledge it has been to be their first piano teacher.  I love them with all my heart.  I will see you soon.  Dixie is an incredible wife and mother.  To God be the glory.

Words can't express how sorry we are for your loss.  Praying for you during this time.

I went to church with Dixie and she and I had frequent conversations while we took our sweet little ones out of service when they needed it.  She was always so kind and I greatly enjoyed talking to her.  I'm sad to not be able to get to know her better.  Our prayers and love are with Brian and all the children.

So sorry for such a great loss to a sweet family.  God is walking beside you in your troubles.  I will continue to pray for your strength.
