Donald Carroll Moore

Donald Carroll Moore of New Waverly, TX, passed into the arms of Jesus on December 29, 2025.

He was born on December 17, 1957, to Rose Jane Prather Moore and Carroll Anthony Moore in Jennings, LA.

Donald spent his formative years growing and attending schools in Sulphur, LA alongside his siblings Robert Anthony Moore and Melanie Moore Bennett. He went to McNeese State University in Lakes Charles, LA where he obtained his bachelor's degrees in chemistry and biology. He then moved to Houston, TX where he worked as a chemist in the suburb of Deer Park.

He met the love of his life, Lorre Lucille Hickman Moore, in 1993 at Clear Lake Church of Christ. They married on November 12, 1994. Donald also took on the role of dad to Lorre’s daughters, Sandra Faith Hickman and Alexandra Robin Hickman Niemeyer.

Donald’s family grew with the additions of brothers-in-law, Hiram Bennett and Herschel Hickman, sisters-in-law, Letty Surman and Rebecca Hickman, son-in-law, Stuart Matthew Niemeyer, and grandchildren: Kendall Brynn Zimmerman, Craig Dean Zimmerman, Zoe Noel Niemeyer, and Amelia Emerson Niemeyer.

Donald enjoyed a full life of working a job he loved, traveling the United States and some exciting foreign places with his wife, hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending quality time with his family.

While his family grieves his loss and misses him greatly, they know and are comforted with the knowledge that he is at peace after a hard battle with cancer.

Memorial will be held at Forest Park-The Woodlands at 18000 I-45, The Woodlands, TX 77384 on January 31, 2026, at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to MD Anderson to further cancer research.
